Anyone prepared to say what they paid for their bike? And where from? Drop me PM please if you don't want to publicly say which dealer etc for whatever reason

My best offer so far is 14.5k for a TE and 14.9k for a triple black (both with keyless and quickshifter)

Quite possibly my negotiations skills are crap but I thought keener prices were out there?.....

I agreed a pcp on a GSA TB at 17.5k total with all the boxes ticked. Well known dealer in the south east.

Your prices sound great, you should do it!

The price means nothing unless you buy without PX if you are doing a PX as most buyers are its the cost to change a dealer can knock a grand off and give £800 less in the PX value so a reduction off only £200

Yes I get that. No px hence it wasn't mentioned in my OP.

Straight purchase.

Only a GS though for me though not the GSA

This is my first thread. I don't dislike dealers but as you well know we need to pay to keep them going. I have just (luckily) beat others to a sale for a 63 plate TE with panniers, touratech topbox, touratech damper, crash bars and a couple of other bits (minus the sat nav and I do want one) for £9250. Transferable BMW warranty until 2018 from a private guy who did not want a trader to get his hands on it. Oh and the bike has 2k on the clock.

Comparing purchasing prices is a bit of a vanity game. Mine is bigger than yours etc. I only use the one dealer for BMWs. I know them, they know me, I like their shop and attitude. If thats worth a grand over 3 years, so be it.

I m the same with retail shopping during sales. I hate shopping in crowded spaces so much, that not saving 30% and buying exactly what you want in the luxury of no crowds a week after sales is worth it for me. Horses for courses as my Welsh gran used to say.

I have a friend driving an expensive car at over £80k new whose depreciation alone is something like £100 per day, who will seriously drive an extra 6miles to buy 5p a litre cheaper petrol. V nice guy, smart professional etc. some people are wired this way.

Dealers are doing deals to shift remaining Euro3 stock before year end - including a number of TBs. E4 TBs are harder to get a discount on if there is no P/X. (not impossible tho)

There are deals out there. I have been looking and missing the nice ones for a couple of weeks. One guy listed a GS TE last friday on fleebay, I was the second caller and it was sold saturday morning. I managed to keep searching GS 1200, no other words in the search bar and defaulted my search to newly listed. I was so lucky to be the first caller as his phone was ringing off the hook after me. He advertised his mobile number on the listing, I spoke with him later on his landline to hear his mobile constantly ringing and for him to say its provisionally sold. I then knew I had an excellent deal.
Having said that I am waiting on delivery and having never ridden one but come to terms that if I am not comfortable on a gs I never will be and will give biking up altogether...
I will learn to love it im sure.
Having said what I have about dealers my other bike is for sale with Yamaha and they will make a nice few quid when it sells and fair play to them. Thanks Wonkey!!

Has it had a new engine?

Am I missing something here? You asked what deals people are getting on new bikes, then ended up buying a 3 year old bike?:nenau
