So after 18 months with a 1600 GT Sport took the plunge today and ordered a new GSA TE in white with full luggage and quick shifter. :D Keeping the GT to see if I ride both but I think it may be for sale soon as I missed the GSA.

The GT was fabulous but so soulless compared to the GSA. I had the old air cooled GSA which I loved and ordered the GT just before the new GSA was launched. I think I was right to wait 18 months or so before getting a gSA so as to let any new bike issues be ironed out. Maybe there weren't any!

The question is, not having ridden a bike with gear shift assist,is it worth the extra money?

Congrats on the bike. Yes, the shifter is a must. Did you go for keyless as well? It's one box I ticked, and thought it was a gimmick (I love gimmicks!:D), but whenever I ride another bike with a traditional key, I really miss it.:comfort:P

No I didn't Could not see the point as CW lent me a demo with keyless and it was a bit of a pain having to search around for the keys when I need to use the panniers. Did everything else though:D

Shift assist, Akro on order, full luggage and taller tint screen.

In Alpine white - fastest colour!

Its my my third GSA, Had one of the first in 2006, a 30 year in 2010, then a break with the the 16GT and now this. TBH i haven't ridden a new GSA, just the GS TE but I ma sure its similar and just as good hopefully.

GT is still here but will probably sell as I can't see the need for it anymore now that SWMBO has gone a bit cool on bikes following a mates tragic accident sadly.

Have to agree with Nutty. I had keyless on my MTS. Always thought it was a gimmick so didn't bother when I switched to the RT. Now I miss it all the time...

I miss it when I'm on the XR. I'm surprised it's not an option on that bike.

The Quickshift on the GS is hit and miss, and the dealers agree , compared with other models. I have it on my GS and SXR. It is a waste of money on the GS and a must have on the SXR.

Curiously, on the trips in Europe this year, all the RT riders sing it's praises.

Bought my new GSA in March this year. A cancelled order with pro shift and keyless start, both of which I wasn't really fussed about. Rode down to BMW Mottorad in Garmisch and found pro shift to be brilliant (especially on the B500). Keyless was also great with no worries about leaving keys in the ignition and made filling up easier. I'd go for it if you can afford.

Thanks all.. Gear shift assist pro box ticked but skipped the keyless ride. Just cannot see the point of scratching around in a pocket to find a key to lock the pannier.

Pick it up on Saturday can't wait

Ordered my 2016 GSA with gearshift pro 2 weeks ago and cant wait:drool. The demo bike I went out on had keyless start, waste of time in my opinion. Money better spent elsewhere

2016 GSA? Whats all that about then or is it to be delivered then?
