Hi All, here`s my latest creation - a table to fit between the two GSA panniers. It locates on the `L` bits on the corner of the panniers and has a logo`d up side flage to stop it from bending under load. It also fits nicely into the pannier.

It`s made out of stainless (as usual) and is very easy to clean and very handy to have!

What do you think? It will be up for sale on my ecommerce site but, as always, I am not too proud to accept constuctive comments. Indeed, all you guys have given me terrific support for what I do so I remain thankful :bow

If you are interested in price then you can see it at www.cymarcbikeparts.co.uk and I think I`ll be putting it up at no more than £30 methinks.

Table

Just a thought. I have metal Mules so the L cutouts would be no good to me.
maybe need to design something more universal? Other than that, looks cool.

Yep, I take the point

yep, good point - its making that `universal` leap as something which may have some movement in it to accomodate different corners (if you will) could cause it to move about whilst being used.

It really does help to secure it to keep it in place.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

1150 & Miff

Hi Miff - yes a good idea but my thoughts are that the additional width will be outweighed by the additional weight.

1150 table - no idea what the corners of the oem 1150 panniers look like  sorry.

If you had a small rubber sucker on each corner of the table, then it would fit onto ANY flat topped (adventure) pannier. Although I suppose it wouldn't sit quite as FLAT and maybe the suckers could get lost.

Maybe a small rubber grommet on each corner as they would be lower profile than the suckers. Although they would help to grip the panniers, they (panniers or table) could still get knocked and the table slip off.

Something like, but smaller

Yeah baby

Yeah baby - I see where you are going with this. They would work but still allow some movement I feel but, say, a rubber `sucker` (like what we used to have on the arrows we played with when kids but now outlawed by the Health and Safety loonatics) would actually stop any movement.

great idea - my only concern, and with both, would be durability. These GSA boys do like to kick the sh*te out of everything and quite rightly so and I would hate for one of the items I make to loose a rubber sucker through enduring tough punishment (or even simply pulled out if hadled roughly) and then be crap to use!

nonetheless, brill idea mate and I think there might be some mileage in it!:thumb2

the 1150 Ali luggage tie downs on the lid are at a 45' angle sweeping away from the lid (made or round bar), so if you make holes in the top they need to be wider than you'd think to accomodate the angle of the tie downs and in further from the edge as the tops of the 1150 Ali luggae has a slope similar to the 1200 Ali panniers,

As if!

Roddy, as if I am clever enough to visualise what you mean :clap

Mate, I`ll need an image if I am ever gonna get my head round that without actually seeing it!

regards,

Stupid of Scunthorpe :D

Table

My MM have the tie down loops on them and i know that the TT ones are similar. How about a long continuous slot, 15-20mm in, that sits over the tie down loops?

what about ...

A simple universal fold flat table that will universally fit anything..
I made one but the legs were a bit flimsy.
About 10 inches off the floor will do, nice and sturdy, about the size of a tea tray, big enough to do some chopping, preparation and cooking on.Strong enough to hold a cooker or two and a kettle and a saucepan etc.
Make it so it will fit flat inside the pannier side, thats what i did.
But it could be better.Ive got some pics somewhere if your interested.Paul

How about having two bend over fins on each of the long side of the table that slot the table into the tie down bars of the GSA panniers and it would give a larger table as two panniers could be placed further apart (in comparison to the L shaped fixing)

And the bend over fins could have another slot lasered in to accomodate two narrow straps just in case you want to tie the table to something.
