New GSA screen Oscillation

my screen is always on its lowest position. Not sure why you'd want to have it at the highest ? Isn't there even more buffeting for the rider's helmet ?

.

Ummmm ---- because they are taller than you perhaps --- and then their chest would be where your helmet is

Just a thought

I must be in the minority then, as I adjust my screen regularly, depending on the conditions I'm riding in.:nenau

Had an idea - those who want no flexing and are content with the bracket adjustment buy the brackets - those who aren't don't!

Individual preference and shorter threads!

Good plan.:thumb:beerjug:

He is not making them or selling them so a pointless thread really

Give the bloke a chance :blast

I think Mark started the thread to gauge opinion, and to see if there's a demand for his idea :thumb2

A bracket maker that sells no brackets

Makes no sense ?

Perhaps he's saving you Karl from your wallet :)

Will be even longer when you tell me how to get these brackets ... :beerjug:

Contact the OP, he'll maybe make you one of the things he's not making * . How, you ask. Easy: http://www.cymarcbikeparts.co.uk

Failing that, Touratech (as the OP tells us) is selling support brackets, at least in the UK. They have US outlets. How, you ask. Easy: http://www.touratech-usa.com

* It's easy to share JB's and KarlP's amazement at this.

On the OP advice I bought a bracket from Wunderlich (not Touratech - they do not make any).

I have asked OP to make one but as I stated above - he is not making any.

If he made one I would gladely pay as his quality would far surpass that of Wunderlich, which I will be complaining about.

Ah, you have clearly reached the 'Last resort' the OP referred to in the opening post.

Approach for custom made quality product with confidence.

Ok peeps. Picked up a new GSA Toilet on friday and done 850 miles on it riding London to Glasgow and back for tuesday.

Sure the screen moves about a bit; a lot compared to the old GSA. However I found that you don't notice it moving whilst riding. Your eyes are focussed on infinity, not the screen. If they are focussed on the screen then your aren't riding right.

So I'd say this is a non issue. Just get used to it.

(Yes this is contrary to my thoughts after a test ride, but that is no substitute for several hours in the saddle).

I would also add that whilst the old GSA had a pricey one piece screen, the new bike has a screen comprising of four pieces which are all individually replaceable. The main screen really is quite flexible. I forced mine to a really controrted position to emulate an off-road crash. No hint of excess stress or cracking. The perspex is incredibly elastic and flexible.

I am 5'11" and found the highest position is best for me. So thats where it will stay for the next 3 yrs!

So my verdict so far: I think the stock screen is great the way it is. Turbulence wise, its way better than the old bike. No need for after market rigid mounting brackets.
