Picked up my new GSA today :bounce1 5 miles later back at the BMW dealers with it pissing oil onto the exhaust and running onto the engine pan and then onto the rear wheel  Leaking from the left hand cylinder blind drill hole which is plugged with a ball-bearing :(:blast:tears

Needs a new barrel and piston  They said they had never seen this happen before

Good news is it will be fixed tomorrow :thumb and first service will be free and they will fit my full Remus system and accessories :clap

Hope this is the last thing that goes wrong :augie

if it's new can you not demand a new bike or total new engine... sale of goods act says something about full money back or new item if something goes wrong in under 28 days... i think.... I'd be wondering what else was overlooked when that engine was being built... a Friday afternoon build maybe:D

Tuned, I agree. I would accept a few minor issues, but not the need for a new barrel on a bike costing so much

Reject it..................

They should do the 1st service free and fit your accessories anyway..........most dealers do

I would reject this if i were you, or get the remus for free!
Hope its not a friday afternoon bike

This isnt the first time. My 07 GSA was picked up with 4 miles, by 8 miles oil pissing out of left barrel, filling bash plate and dripping in front of back wheel. Overnighted the bits so I had to stay in Scotland another night waiting for it to be done. Eventually the bike was changed after quite a few months of "discussion "with BMW.

Didn't dealers used to perform PDI checks?

Quite. Now you not only get no faith in the bike, but no faith in the dealer.

Still, fixed in a day, not bad service, almost like they had a barrel and piston ready and waiting.....:augie
