New GSA?

if you've got it, why not spend it on both?

Correct, but if a choice has to be made ......................

Can't see the point in moving from one TwinCam to another, for £5k cost when his bike is only 2 years old and 12k

However it's all down to personal choice

I swap my car every 2 or 3 years, because it covers a high mileage and the change cost/running cost is tax deductable for me

Not the bikes anymore though, I'll only buy if I fancy it:thumb

bikes and economics are not good bedfellows IMO.

i'm not planning on swapping my TC at the moment, but who knows, when i ride one, and i'm sure CW will lend me one when my bike's being serviced.....

Absolutely! I've given up spending money on bikes. My 1200GSA did 55,000 miles before I sold it. I bought a F650GS as a UK bike and laid out just £4000 for a then 3-month old 1200-mile Tenere plus another €300 pa to house it in southern Spain so I could head into Morocco whenever I wanted. The Tenere has now done over 25,000 miles.

Spend the money on travel, not on bikes.

Bang on the money, have a stonking adventure & chip your bike in for a new one several years later.:thumb2

Very true:thumb

£5000 to swap.................. is 100 nights in a £50 hotel

Absolutely correct :thumb2 .. Or even find somewhere a bit cheaper and have longer. DAMHIK ;)

Seriously.. 5K is a lot to spend on essentially the same bike. Sounds like you've swapped a very good low miler for just a new one?

I was looking at a similar figure for a new one: So instead I spent the cash on Suspension, remap, lots of lots of bits.. and lots of using the bike :thumb

Bike just ticking on to 40k, nicely loosened up now :clap
