Came home to the news that Fiona is buying the bike for my birthday next week I'm gob smacked and for once lost for words

I must admit that I don't get the whole HD thing Andy, but that's a hell of a birthday present. :thumb2

nice choice of bike. having just rented one of those for 2 weeks in the us of a i have a question for you. at anything over 45mph i found the wind noise so bad that it made the radio/cd player useless. the draft over the screen also made my glasses vibrate so bad i had to buy a visor for my open face helmet. was it just me???. the bat wing faring was very good and the stock seat was good for 150 miles between stops. enjoy!

So far I'm finding.

the wee screen does give more buffeting than the taller screen on the Ultra glide I tested. But looks soooo much better. I may buy a slightly taller screen for longer trips.

With a roof full face helmet I can hear the radio clear as a bell up to 70mph, OKish up to 80. Again the Ultra I tested was fitted with rear speakers and that was fine sat at 90. There is a disadvantage to having a radio. I was pottering though Biggar today with the Archers theme tune blasting out :o

I've just clocked this thread.

Good on you, Andy :thumb2 Hope you hae many years and many miles o' happy cruisin' (no' that kind!) aboot on her. She's a beaut :beerjug:

Lovely bike:thumb

Would love one myself ,once I've finished paying for my Street Bob!

You can buy a bolt on wind deflector from HD that fits under the bottom yolk and reduces buffeting by about 50%,costs about $15 in black,I bought one for my Dyna but it looked pretty crap on the naked forks so I stuck it on the GS instead.

Enjoy the ride

Nice bike Stumpy :thumb2

I'm thinking about one of these for the summer. Now you've had it a while what are your thoughts regarding pros/cons of this bike? Oh and how tall are you?

Sorry:blast just spotted your question

The more I ride it the more I like it. A very natural riding position, great low speed stability, decent tank range but most of all it stirs the soul. It doesnt cover the ground as quickly as some other bikes but will hussle along quite nicely although that seems to miss the point. Its a very invloving bike to ride and corners need a little planning. The seat on the street glide is not as well padded at the other Glides but with an air hawk its all day comfortable. Likewise the short screen looks good but does suffer from some buffeting but I can live with that.

My other bikes may come and go but my Street Glide is a keeper:thumb

I'm 6ft BTW:thumb2

Hiya

I like your new bike very much. And I have been a critic of Harley's "Tractors" for years.. Having had many sports bikes, then 8 Goldwings.

I love my HD FLHTCUSE4 ultra classic Electra glide CVO 2009 and just to think it only cost twice as much as two new BMW GSA'S both super fun bikes.

What does it matter as long as we can still ride BIKES!: have fun and be safe on ya new Steed
