New Hi power radio

Dependant on quality these seem a bit pricey, also as its vhf you wont be able to talk to anyone with a pmr radio.I have had several radios for bike to bike use including Puxing,Weiwei and feidaxin,I`m currently using a Wintec with 2w and this seems to be a nice little radio.Check out Ebay for a choice of cheap radios, remembering you need UHF freq with 12.5 steps. Most vhf handhelds are 5w and uhf versions 4w.If you dont fancy buying from China have a look at Intaride

http://www.intaride.com/business_radios.html

but these are not as cheap as the Ebay versions.

Its only worth getting your own frequency(via ofcom)if there is a lot of you using radios so you can share the cost. When we are out and about we very rarely get anyone sharing a channel and if it happens you are out of range in a few mins.
