Has anyone purchased the new Interphone Tour yet?
What's it like? Does the radio work ok? Is it load enough at 80+? Battery life?
Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers

I have one. Everything is perfect, long battery life, very easy to use, HOWEVER, the volume is complete and utter shite. If you're riding over 50mph, forget it.

Interphone haven't released a full set of instructions yet, so there's no way to turn off the speed sensitive volume. There may be a software update to fix this, so I'll be sending mine back for a refund unless the issue is fixed by mid June, when I'll need it for a trip.

I wouldn't recommend buying one until these issues are resolved.

Edit - full instructions are now on their website, so I'll play with the volume settings when I get back from the US later in the week, and update the thread.

Hi folks,

I really like the look of the simplicity of this system, especially after my nightmare of complication and problems with the Sena 20S. However, it does not look like you can use your Micky's / Ultimate Ear type in-ear speakers with the Interphones? This is a dealbreaker for me, alas, so unless a suitable connector becomes available I will probably go for the Scala Packtalk.

I will keep an eye on how things develop.

Matt

I believe you can download the instruction off t,inter web thingy

I currently use Scala G4, and removed the pad-earspeakers and fitted a 3.5mm socket in their place, secured to the root of the mic boom. With that - I use either Micky's plugs, or even a pair of normal ear-buds (almost flush) - these work well on my 1200GSA as the screen helps reduce the wind-noise so earplugs aren't an absolute necessity.

There was a recommendation on this site for cheap (circa £7) panasonic earbuds, which are high quality/low form factor - they work a treat!

I really recommend removing the pad-earspeakers.

Full instructions released, and the volume is still utter shite.:blast

A software update is needed, before I return the fucking thing.

I recently bought (& subsequently returned) a new Interphone Sport.....primary reason is I can't get on with the helmet speakers and the poor volume. The unit itself seemed OK (albeit I did experience a few issues with it).

I have now opted for a far better solution (for me):-

> Keep my Scala G4 rider unit
> Updated the software to the latest version (v3.2)...... Cardo will continue to release software updates for the G4 although it's a dated model
> Bought an updated base unit, which is actually for the G9x which the G4 is fully compatible with (as per link below)

http://www.motorcycle-tourer.co.uk/cardo-scala-g4-base-upgrade-to-g9x-base/

> The new base unit comes with 2 plug in mic's (corded & boom), and also has plug in helmet speakers, or, as I shall be doing, plugging in my custom fit sound ears for the ultimate sound experience

Happy days

:D

I have a pair of Interphone FM5C units and they are superb. The volume was a minor issue but this sorted it:

Ok, I sent away for an Interphone Tour. I charged it up and turned it on . I thought the volume was ok but I didn't try it on the road because I suddenly noticed they had sent me an URBAN by mistake. So I sent it back.
Would the 'fix' shrewdly posted work on a Tour?

An update, for those considering the Tour.

I took it back, and swapped it for the Cardo PackTalk, which in comparison, has more features, and LOADS more menu settings. It has an iPhone app, which makes life a bit easier, but it's still complicated to set up compared to the Interphone. I couldn't get on with it, so took it back yesterday.

The only other option with decent battery life/ range between bikes is the Tour, so I nervously agreed to try the twin pack, with the caveat that if the volume is crap, it's going back. I needn't have worried, as I've just set it up in my Shoei, and the volume is 10 times better than my last Tour. The last one was definitely faulty, as I've set this up the same way, and it works exactly as it should.

The only thing I'll say, is set up all the settings before you fit the unit, as the speakers are quieter than previous models when you hold the helmet in your hands, but is perfect once you're wearing it.

My volume is ok but I'd like a bit more volume.
The radio, it keeps cutting out and coming back again. I know it could be living in Aberdeen....
I didn't realise I had to pair it with other units if I turned it off all over again, though it only fakes a few seconds.
Why can't we have Bluetooth that my pillion can hear from the sat nav too
It says a pillion can listen to the same music but , and it could be me, music from the phone doesn't sound as good as the sat nav. (Zumo 660)
I've not had a pillion on the back yet so can't tell you much about that.
It doesn't like having a phone and a sat nav connected at the same time. Again, this could be me. If I don't have the phone Bluetooth on the sat nav connects no problem at all.

Will take the misses out on the back this week and tell you how I get on.

I'm using the Tour on a K 1600 GT which may or may not make a difference to the sound.

Oh, it says on the box there's an app for it. How do I get it? It's not under Interphone.

And it's mentioned in the sales patter. I've emailed them to find out more.

Where is this place where you can keep taking them back if your not satisfied with them ?

Bykebitz. You have 30 days from the day you buy it. Great customer service from these guys, and they're just up the road from me.:thumb

Ok, I've figured out most of the workings. It's load enough, the radio isn't great.
Can someone tell me how I get music from a phone or Zumo 660 to play in the pillions helmet? I've looked at the instructions online but it cuts out the Bluetooth connection between us and she can't hear a thing.

Cheers
