My daughter's Ipod Nano has blown up beyond repair, so I have bought her a new ipod for her birthday. All fine and dandy.

In her Itunes library on the PC she has lots of songs, some burnt direct from CD's and others bought from Itunes itself. She has no songs from third party suppliers, so they are all 'legit' if you see what I mean.

What happens when she plugs her empty new Ipod into the PC and starts Itunes?

(a) Will her new Ipod simply pick up all the songs in her library, just like normal?

(b) Will it pick up just some songs?

(c) Will it pick up nothing?

(d) Will it wipe her library?

In short? What to do..... Or I can see the joy of a new Ipod being wiped out in under 10 seconds and it will all be my fault.....

Itunes will recognise the new Ipod and ask you what you would like to do - i.e. to synch or not to synch. Everything on the PC will be fine, nothing will be wiped.

Its the other way around that requires caution, existing iPod with music on it and new pc/iTunes with no access to old iTunes and music library.

There are solutions for that though and its asked here all the time :thumb2

See I'm still talking to ya even tho you never sent me an email from your new purse sized vaio

Yup, I found the answer to the other way around, quite quickly.... It was the simple bit that stumped me.....

I thought that there was some sort of restriction on downloaded songs (as opposed to songs ripped off CD's) being copied, or dumped onto more than one Ipod, but seems I was wrong...
