As the title I am looking for a replacement for my 8 year old Technic Freeway, which has given very good service & I would buy another but unfortunately Technic have disappeared.

I am on a tight budget of about £350 so no Rukka, Kilm etc. But Gore-Tex would be an advantage & could stretch the budget slightly . I have been looking at Dane Korsor & Lindstrands Qattara. Could anyone that has either of these jacket let me have their thoughts or anyone else their recommendations on other jackets.

My requirements are as follow:-
Waterproof (on the outside not waterproof internal liner)
Vented
Touring length.
3 - 4 season use.

Many Thanks for reading

Ive bought from these guys a few times, always seem to be good for service and price and they have a sale on at present for different sizes.

I really rate Dane stuff. I tried to buy Dainese but seeing as they refused to make a long enough pair of trousers for 6 months I took a punt and ordered a Dane setup. Really pleased with the fit, quality and features of the stuff, they cater for long and short sizes and I think the best value kit for the money. Until recently there was no UK distributor but there seems to be one now:

Don't Dismiss IXS gear only stocked by J&S but they do some very good Goretex stuff at the price you want to pay.

New Jacket Required (Update)

Well I bit the bullet & went for the Halvarsson Prime in Green (new colour) which should blend in nicely with the standard road covering in deepest Norfolk where tractors rule the roads & leave mud everywhere. I went to Branded Biker in Boston they have a good selection of all Joframa /Lindstrand/Halvarsson range plus others & the chap there was very helpful well worth a look if you are in the area or look on line. I have no connection with them they just happen to be almost local.

The jacket looks v/good quality & a good fit, it is not too long at the front so it should not bunch up at the from when on the bike but the back is longer than the front & covers the lower back well. One thing to watch with the Prime is there is no back protection included so a further £50 needs to be allowed for which the buys a L2 back protector. But otherwise pleased with the jacket I will try it on the bike tomorrow.:thumb2

I also went to visit Branded Biker (to try on the Prime) who I was very impressed with. Even after ordering from them they had no squabbles about me later cancelling the order and sent a prompt refund. For such a small shop they have lots of Joframa gear to try on. Sadly even the largest sized the Prime jacket was a little too tight due to my impressive muscular physique that the women so desire.

Its all about the physique :rob
