I have one main key and the little plastic thing that I think wont start the bike, though I have never tried. This worries me as I am good at losing things...

If I want a spare key do I need to go to BMW or can I get an aftermarket one, get it cut and use the GS911 to add it to the bike?

Any idea of price and best place to go?

the plastic key has the transponder in it and will start the bike. I used to carry mine in my wallet.

Edit: i believe it's actually called a "wallet key"

I bought a new key from a main dealer. It was about £40.You need to take your V5 & photo ID with you.

I paid £30 at Ocean Plymouth last year, and as previously stated ID and V5 required, although anyone can pick up key as long as they have receipt.

You cannot use as GS911 to pair keys to the bikes ecu AFAIK.

You need a dealer or a suitably equipped automotive locksmith to do it for you.

Try Bahnstormer.
