After a 2 year hiatus over here Kaw resurrected the KLR and it looks like they made a lot of little improvements. Yes it's a big, heavy bike for a 650 single but it always has been. They're promoting the KLR as more of an adventure bike now which really is more fitting because it comes with a 6 (US) gallon tank, big cushy seat, rear rack, composite skid guard, hand guards, and a nice fairing and shield. The Adventure version adds cases and driving lights, along with a few other extras. Anyway here's a link if anyone's interested.

Ian puts it well the KLR is just a dinosaur. On the + side are comfortable ergonomics, large fuel capacity, rear rack, (plastic) skid plate, decent seat, nice fairing and shield, all standard. But then there's that awful engine, porky weight, flexy chassis, and budget suspension.

Loved mine.
Few years ago though.
Blimey....that looks like the bike was 7 foot high and you're normal (stop laughing...we know he ain't normal) height...or it's a normal bike and you've been hit by a shrink ray gun.....

The latter. For me it was a tall bike as you can see.
