New KTM 1190 Adventure/R

looks a fuk sight nicer than the new 1200 kettle

True enough

Can't help thinking that it looks like a cross between the 990 SMT and the latest Transalp.

Made me think of Versys

I don't like it very much at all. I like bikes that stand out, not blend in and look like other bikes in their class. Neither this or the new BMW's are floating my boat. If I ever sell the 950SE (which I cant see happening anytime soon) I have no idea what I would go for.

As nice as it will be, anyone spending nearly £16k on this needs their head tested.:rob Have you seen how much KTM's lose?:blast

Er......no !!!

Having owned over a dozen different KTMs over the years , they seem to hold their value extremely well!

I've lost more on BMs !!

I must admit I love ktm for their left of field bikes individual and a bit different
But this thing is jumping on the adventure tourer styling band wagon :barf
I am sure it will be a fantastic bike but I'm out..
I prefer the style and aggressive looks of the current mode. More of a real deal and closer to their roots. :rob

Is that how much it's going for !!!... jaysus.... I'll keep my Superduke

I do like this bike, and wouldn't rule out going to the orange side one day, but part of the appeal of KTM's is that they've always been well priced compared to the competition.:rob

I hope the configurator has the wrong prices, as that's putting this bike into a price range of some very exotic bikes, and if I was spending that kind of money would be looking at something a bit more special.:blast

KTM's have always demanded a premium over other similar bikes

Anyway, I'm prepared to bet that a fully loaded GS is gonna be a very similar price to a fully loaded non 'R' KTM :nenau

The more I look at the GS v the KTM the more I'm thinking I'd go for the KTM - test ride needed of course along with a big enough wallet for either purchase (the latter may well be a stumbling block ;)).

It's not cheap though,when specced up :

But the R has nicer ally panniers :

Will definitely try one but think I'll stick with my 950SE !!

What is a sound & and style kit I wonder:nenau

I read somewhere that service intervals are now 9.5k miles.
More than double the current lc8 engined bikes.

Uk dealers are getting them around February I think.

It seems to lean ok !!

looks like there's a bit of arse twitching running out of road going on there - no doubt not helped by the 150BHP that made that bend arrive a bit quicker than it did on last KTM Adv :D

mhsnowy, didn't KTM increase some time ago the service interval to 6000 miles (and also valve clearance interval) ?

i fancy one 10000 mls intervals 150bhp etc etc im getting fed up of 6000 mile sevicing and my new gs is starting to stall like my old one it really pisses me off the fuel gauge is crap but i do love it

The more I look at this thing, the more I like it. I love my ADV but this would be close to making me change. I reckon that would be great on an Alaska trip:thumb

May book a test ride when they are available:thumb
