I am wanting to get some new motorcycle boots. I have used Sidi B2 goretex boots for many years but the B2 has now been discontinued. I particularly liked them due to the ‘thin’ sole and the fairly plain appearance (virtually all black). Can any tossers suggest a quality replacement boot with the B2 type features please, ie. thin sole, waterproof, no garish colours and unclumsy.

Love my Daytonas. Wear ‘em every day to, from and at work.

I have had BMW "Allround" boots for the last 10 years - never leaked and are just plain black. The only give-away is the reinforced patch for the gear change.

I've had 2 pairs of the B2's utterly brilliant road boots and quite wide for Sidi's, as normally I can't get on with Sidi's being so narrow. Really subtle and always kept my feet dry (until I wore them out as below).

Unfortunately I then got the Adventure bike bug and wear TCX drifters now on road, but they don't meet the criteria of slim soles and black.

Daytonas, bought my first pair in 2002 and ERNIE kindly bought me another pair 2 years ago although the originals having been re-soled and re-Goretex'd are still more than useable

Really like my Daytonas but after a year the gear change pad on the side is worn away, not coming off the boot yet. Googled, seems to be a common issue, why they just don't make the pad larger and come further towards the sole, who knows. Contacted Daytona direct, they offered to repair, but the repair pad will be stuck on, not sewed. Going to leave it for a while until the pad starts to lift, I'll then get them repaired.

I would add another vote for Daytonas, brilliant boots, very comfy and sensible width fitting unlike many others which tend towards the snug/narrow fitting. They've had some issues with the gear change pad on some models though. Their Roadstar GTX feel very comfortable, with enough flex and feel in the soles to make them all day comfortable boots. I tried those on and was very impressed with the quality fit and feel of the boot. I'd have gone straight to those as replacements for my current ones had it not been for Altberg, my all time favourite boots, Altberg Roadrunners. There's currently a 16 week wait for those (I've just ordered a pair) but it's well worth the wait. They're superb boots, few better, and all day comfy (my 3rd pair of Altbergs now). More importantly, 100% waterproof and very durable with wide fit options. These are all hand made to order by their Richmond factory.

Daytonas all day long. But do note that some of the same models are labelled /named differently by different resellers! The same boot might have a cooler name at a different store...I always use the manufacturer code when looking for new Daytonas..
