How it all works

Kevin Ash in his MCN Tech watch column for last week has quite a good explanation and also seems to resolve the is it/aint it OHC. If this removes the cause of a good argument please ignore.

Looks like the valves are set radially in the head and the cam lobes are angled (red circles), as are the rocker shafts (green line) compared to the camshafts. So i'd imagine it's to do with that. Still can't see any adjustment though

Your explanation of the rockers is spot on! The shims are underneath teh rocker arm - they are very small - approx 5mm dia.

The motror will have two plugs per cylinder.

Does this make it clearer .
Looks like ohc to me, and there's two of them.... so dohc.
Double can also mean twin, so.... could also be called twin over head cam.
Or maybe not
