Is Pan European using the zumo at all?

He seems to always get the new garmin gadgets before they all get properly released?

any info would be good.

I don’t believe Michael has been involved with the Zumo, he can’t beta test every device Garmin make. He was on the forum a few days back and made no comment about it, so it seems he wasn’t on board with it.

Trackpoints. 10,000 is good, but why are we limited at all? If I put a 2GB SD card in there I want a 100,000 tracklog, enough for my round the world trip...
I doubt that the Zumo is any good for offroad or around-the-world usage.

What makes the 276C and the 60Cx superior for off-road use is, among other features, their ability to administrate tracks. On these devices you can -

- Save 15 or more named tracks. On the 60Cx you can save any number of tracks onto the SD-card.

- Upload 15-20 named tracks from the PC. These can be used as "routes" in areas where the maps are poor.

For the time being the spec on garmin.com is not complete for the Zumo. It may very well be the case that the Zumo is perfect for MC usage. IF, and only if, you can transfer waypoints, routes & tracks back & forth to/from the SD card. This would mean that all the stupid limitations in number of routes & trackpoints you see on the Quest & StreetPilot models would be gone.

Please Garmin, give me a 276Cx (with SD-card). Please!

I went to the MotoGP race at Laguna Seca and Garmin had a booth specifically for the launch of this new unit. It's a smaller form factor than the SP units which is good for storage I suppose. It has the newer GUI a la Nuvi style. I did like the option to choose smaller/larger buttons which will work great with gloves. The only drawback to the larger buttons is that now the entire alphabet is not displayed. So if you want to type in a letter later in the alphabet, you'd need to scroll down to that group of letters. IIRC, they are bunched in groups of 4 - ABCD - EFGH, etc. If the price gets to about the 2720 range, I think I'd consider it. But for now, my 2610 does a fine job. I also would need to make the plunge into BT territory so the buy in price for this newer unit is steeper than just the GPS itself.
