New Motorrad in Glasgow

Hope it works out for them
You can have as many pot plants, posh showroom areas, Miniskirted sectretaries ,ect etc but IF they dont get some decent Tech people in to work the machinery the job is NOT a good un.
Edit (ye can never have enough miniskirted secs :D)

I bought my current car from Parks in Glasgow. They paid for our flights up there, and we drove back home the next day.:thumb I'd not hesitate getting another from them (a good excuse for another night at Cameron House:D):thumb If their bike sales are as good, they're onto a winner:beerjug:

I'm reliably informed...*ahem...!* that Douglas Park Motorrad will be a BMW Motorrad Destination Flagship Dealership. It's part of a large motor group and they appear to have made a huge investment in this dealership.

That'll be another tax dodge then :) Reliably informed that AD will heading up the operation :blast so it shouldn't be long before something goes horribly wrong. There's only 3 decent techs in the area and they aren't moving from the Edinburgh side. Hand grenade deployed Captain :):). Bikes in car showrooms never work. They're always seen as the poor relation.

Interesting that the last mention of Clark's on here was Delboy777 back in Oct or thereabouts. As proactive as ever...zzz. But at least having two dealers again in E-W should offer a bit of choice and mebbe keep them on their toes.

Yes Schtum I know that, but it will still be orchestrated by the car side. Combi dealers have the luxury of being able to support the bikes due to the huge profit margins made on the car side so can afford to blow bikes out the door. Great for the customers but not great for the rest of the dealer network in Scotland. Given the current economic climate and the territory/area/limited customer base of the dealership 1.5 million is an awfull big gamble. Any way it wasn't that long ago that a certain individual was flogging caravans after he left MCE. Think that was a short career too.

Well, Douglas Park have invested a fair bit of cash in their stand alone Motorrad dealership - lets not be so hasty to judge them - "the prove is in pudding" so they say.....I hope it works out great as it's fair time the west had a dealership again :thumb

Regardless of what career path Mr Dalziel has taken since leaving Motorrad Central, it's good to see him back again. I've known him quite some time and he's always done me a good deal on the bikes I've bought from him. I wish him well in the new venture.

Who is going to be doing the important stuff?

My bike needs a service but it'll not be going to Parks if they get some ex quik fit bloke in.....

My mate has bought a couple of BMW cars from Parks and speaks very highly of them so hopefully for folk over that side of the country it will be a good dealership. Certainly the more the merrier in my opinion:thumb

Nice to get news of a dealership opening rather than closing. MCE is still my first choice for servicing but if, and it is still a distant if methinks, it comes to replacing my current mount who knows which sales team will come up with the most tempting offer at the time.

Best of luck to the team in East Kilbride.

phoned them today " waiting on the bikes arriving, should be open in the next few days" as for servicing "we have not been told anything yet" :blast

Popped down to Parks today to have a wee look around. Alan kindly gave me a guided tour. Not too much to see due to the amount of work going on. I tell you this it's going to be some pitch once it's up an running.Huge showroom (for new and used bikes), state of the art service bay (for 7 bikes i think Alan said),parts department clothing/accessoire outlet and private room available for use by biker clubs. I reckon they are still a good two weeks away from completion. But as i said it going be a fantastic dealership.

:aidan

As your handle suggest you do know sod all about geography:D Did CC not land in South America and thought he was in India :aidan

Seems like Douglas Park think they are in Glasgow. Anyway it's just up the road from me :D Expect that this with benefit us as paying customers ( a wee bit of competition and all that:blagblah) :aidan

He sailed west to get to India and found the Americas which he didn't know about, why I don't know cos it had obviously been there a while.
