New Multi V4

An Achilles heel then - 200 mile range but as they've said, you'll start looking for a garage well before that - range anxiety from 150 miles 'will I hit a garage in the next X if I wait a bit longer for a fill-up'. Unless you know the road, it's got to be every 150/160 miles hasn't it? So if you were in the alps and the satnav shows a garage, but will it be open when you get there? I don't want to pic a hole in what sounds like an incredible bike but that's going to be a real issue for a lot of travelers. If only they'd put a KTM style saddlebag tank on :green gri Even 4 more litres would make a difference.

After I saw Giles’s bike I actually emailed Colchester Kwak and they could supply me a Tuono Factory VAT-free, so about £11600 !!!

Bloody tempting but don’t really have the room .

You're crazy not to snap that up.
I rode the SF and my mates Factory Tuono back to back and the Ape is a better bike in every aspect IMO.
And just to say I also noticed the difference between the grunt of the 1260 and the SF , regardless of journalists and data , it felt less powering it out of corners

Scrap !!!!

Boxerwuss will no doubt tell them how wrong they are.....:D

Chad said they went for a double sided swing arm because spoked wheels obviously wouldn’t work on a single sided !? Erm GS ? Crosstourer?

200 mile range is what I get out of my V4 Crosstourer . In 33,000 miles it’s only been a problem twice, both times I’ve had to go a couple of miles out of my way to get fuel. No biggie !

I had my mechanic check that there wasn't a leak in the tank during a service!!

Mine was super thirsty too but then they are about 250kg!!! Loved the V4 noise on DCT too

285kgs (unfortunately)

Heavy bastid so it is.......but the plush ride and super smooth drive train makes up for it.

I think it sounds brilliant. I'd love to have stayed with Ducati when I swapped from my previouis bike but I couldn't put up with the buffeting on a demo ride. From one of the above reviews it sounds like they have fixed this. Also I didn't really like the seat shape (curved like a banana), and the new one looks a lot more traditional/flat as well.

I hope they sell bucketloads of them, but Im out now for a few years unless I suddenly need to replace my current bike.

RBW.

To replace the 1290adv it would have to be better than the previous gen models. They were really a rider focused bike with a spare seat. The 1290 has been a brilliant tourer for 2 up and you can carry a ton of luggage.

so does an 1150, and I doubt those touring 2 up would be in need or using the 170 HP...

Part of why the 1200GSA left the garage was because the 1290 is a way more engaging bike. A lot will disagree because 125hp is enough for them and the Beemer produces its power low down which is what just about everyone wants. 11000rpm sir? Not bothered. Pull like a train from 3k - yep. The 1290 does that well too but it just suits my riding style and makes me smile more. Effortless overtakes do it for me too and for a big bike it doesn't disappoint.

I'm expecting from watching reviews that the power will be more than enough and I do love a V4. Will it be the complete package? Maybe find out one day.

Anyone know when test bikes will land at dealers?

Looks like our local dealer has their first bike.

That's good. I guess some average Joe reviews will be along shortly.

Just seen one in the flesh, beautifully made bike, puts the GS to shame.Three things I'm not sure about though.
The satnav uses Sygic app, I've tried this but as someone who creates lots of routes here in the UK and Europe using a Nav6/Basecamp.You seem to be limited with shaping points numbers, plus they show on screen as capital letters.
I could install the Nav6 on the bars but this would look crap imho
The fuel range could be an issue.?
Why no steering damper on a 170bhp bike.?
Otherwise I am seriously tempted, got a refundable deposit on one after a test ride when ever that might be, delivery would be March.

Did the Motorrad Tour of Scotland which uses a lot of small, sometimes single track roads, on an XR and a despite starting each day with a full tank (range 180miles) I had a few but clenching moments with the low fuel light on. Think it would be a no no on the V4.
