As usual with most bike tests, no mention of pillion suitability !!

They should've got this test rider. He seems to use the back seat a bit.

Had a look at one at the local dealer and looking at the rear and sitting on it it seemed comfortable and in a way similar to the GS as its a similar shape , unlike the old 1200 multi I had as the wife would not go out on it , but I feel she would on this as the whole package seems more tailored towards the touring / scratching market.
The older bikes seemed to have a hollowed out banana seat and pad for the rear.
Im looking at a test ride as soon as we can .

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts!
I very nearly got a 1260s back in June 19 but the 1250 just had the edge.

The wife loves the 1250 Gs as all day comfort , but I have now got my shotgun back , so may be looking at the new V4 ....

Been looking at this Multi for a while trying to find out about its slow speed handling as its something I do a lot of, the 1260 enduro was crap in comparison to the boxer at this, and going back to a tele config was uncomfortable although it was deffo a fun bike but apparently this new v4s is much smoother an like he says 'silky', so I'll be taking a test on it.

One thing though, loaded up with your touring gear and pillion you're talking 150 miles then looking for gas, We did 13k miles in 3 months last time touring on my GSA, it would be a pain having to go so often but we can carry extra if its irresistible

Apart from that, the radar and blind spot tech I feel will be received well, let alone the 36k mile valve intervals and 9k oil changes fancy that, A ducati beating bmw servicing. I road the 1250gsa but I just don't get engaged with the LC engines unlike prior iterations of GSs that I've really taken to.

Along with poorer brakes and suspension the " Poverty " Spec Multi only gets a 5" TFT screen rather than the 6.5" found on the S model

So you get what you pay for.... isn't that normal.

The question is whether another brand offers the same for less.

Personally I think that Visordown video is poor. A "let's get a review out before everyone else" review. How on earth can the guy make such sweeping statements based on a first ride review done ages ago. Quite funny really. The GS has been out for decades and ridden to death, so how about waiting until the Multi has been ridden to death before making a review? Would I base a purchase option on a hastily posted review? I think not. They're just trying to grab some headlines.

I will agree though, if you want a bike to use off-road, get the GS. But if you want sport touring adventure excitement, don't dismiss the Ducati if you have the cash.

The Video I posted is V Told ?
I]Does the size of the TFT or standard of brakes vary with specification levels on a 1250 GS, don't think so[/I]
I was merely alluding to the fact that I did not think this had been mentioned as yet in this thread.
Agree that the VD video being poor, Same same old regards comparison with the GS for offroad capabilities. Pointless in reality when so few buying these will be doing any and as you say 40 years of BMW supremacy in this area.
Lets all not rush in yet until we have seen the Pan America

Just having a chat with the dealer.

Seems a £22k+ bike doesn't have tire pressure sensors fitted as standard. That's just unbelievable.

It looks like they are £144 each on the configurator so another £288 on top of your already over-priced bike. Then there's the 1 1/2hrs labor to fit them :D:D

The dealer has offered to fit them for free and parts at cost but I really think it's the straw that breaks a camels back.

AND: Finally a proper video :green gri

Just kick the tyres before you ride & maybe get an old pencil type tyre pressure gauge to confirm

TPM, load of bollox and waste of money, manufacturers just conning you out of even more money
