New Multi V4

Just kick the tyres before you ride & maybe get an old pencil type tyre pressure gauge to confirm

TPM, load of bollox and waste of money, manufacturers just conning you out of even more money

What makes you say that as i have found them a good addition an will always use them on future purchases , ordered them on the V4 along with the fuel cap and alarm , are those a load of bollox as well.

Complete disagree. We only have two wheels and they need to work.

Fuel cap is worthwhile.Without it the range will be even less :-)
Alarm is definitely a load of bollox.

Are you finally leaving BMW’s mighty steed then

I would think a fuel cap is essential to stop fuel leakage

Alarm - I wouldn’t, but you can

TPM - only had them in one bike, a 1200 GS and didn’t see any point in them & in the end they were an annoyance

My bikes don’t have TPM and the wheels work fine

The manufacturers have suckered you into thinking you really need it and cannot do without it, they have trousered you into paying for it

1000’s of bikes are ridden quite safely each year without TPM and none of the riders have any drama on their bikes

I had a bike with TPM and it was an annoyance- a good good rider can quickly detect a drop in tyre pressure without the need to be told it by a machine

I think they're a great early warning system - rear tyre dropped 0.2 bar over a few days last week, a quick investigation revealed a screw in the rear tyre.

10 minutes later and a sticky string is inserted and off we go.

You should be physically checking the tyre before you jump on and ride

Quick spin on the centre stand of each tyre would have shown you the screw, before you even turned the ignition on to see the dash flashing

Also you could have detected a pressure drop by just sitting on the bike before the ignition was turned on

Basic physical safety checks are your real lifesaver

Oil/brakes/tyres/wheels/lights etc

Monitors make YOU lazy

Just having a chat with the dealer.

Seems a £22k+ bike doesn't have tire pressure sensors fitted as standard. That's just unbelievable.

It looks like they are £144 each on the configurator so another £288 on top of your already over-priced bike. Then there's the 1 1/2hrs labor to fit them :D:D

The dealer has offered to fit them for free and parts at cost but I really think it's the straw that breaks a camels back.

AND: Finally a proper video :green gri

For sale V4 Multi - Ex Demo 1000 miles, TPMS only £20,000

That's why I would never buy a demo bike!

I ride my bike just about every day. My bike has various useful warning sensors and I'm happy to rely on sophisticated electronic sensors rather than the seat of my fat arse.

Can your arse really detect 0.2 bar drop in air pressure by sitting on it - I suspect not.

Also, your comment about a 'quick spin on the centre stand' assumes that there is an obvious puncture - they don't always shout at you and I'd need to put a jack under the engine to lift the front wheel to spin it.

Tell me something? Do you rely on the oil pressure warning light to warn you that the oil pressure is low, or do you have a capillary oil pressure gauge? ;)

No , just spending a bonus for this year as i would like to run both bikes alongside each other as the lockdown has not allowed me to test yet , as normally i would have the bike over a weekend . The BM has pride of place but you never know .......
i think the lockdown internet fixation may have blurred my realism but lets see.....i did ride the last 1260 but found it , lets say , wanting in certain areas.

Wow. Really...:nenau

Care to elaborate on this or are you just blowing smoke up your own arse. :P

Tricky - never argue with Stick.... it’s like arguing with your wife.... he/she is always right and for you - sadly it’s a waste of time.

Agreed.

I have a plug in my car tyre. Call me lazy but its quite good checking the pressure from the drivers seat.

First world problems

Just found it the same as my 2010 s 1200 , did not like the way it handled when pushed , it was hard to find a constant line , unlike the Gs . Hope the V4 is better , and for 23k I hope so , but easy come easy go
