Looking to replace my 660 with the new Navigator V and was wandering if anyone has got one yet?

Apparently, according to ADV site

"On select BMW motorcycles, riders can even view comprehensive real-time information1 on the MyMotorcycle Pages, such as tire pressure, gas levels, and when their next service is. The system also tells the rider how many times he shifted gears, used the front or rear brakes, the average throttle position, and more1. The page can be configured for multiple data field layouts and users can re-arrange the data in the order they would like to see. With the Last Ride Analyzer users can view a summary of the motorcycle data, trip conditions and stats of their last ride."

If this is true i would be very keen to get one. I have a 2013 TE and according to the manual

“My Motorcycle pages” works only on 2014 R1200GS or R1200GS Adventure models.

Assuming it does work on the 2013 model what functions does the navi wheel on the handlebars actually do?

One final question. What is the 'Garmin Smartphone' mentioned here? Can i get weather and traffic info on the unit as well?

So.....If anyone has any info i would love to know if it will work.

I have seen that but there is no info on my first point on there, or my second point or my third point for that matter. It does however answer the 4th point though.:augie

:D Garmin use to do a smart phone but is no longer sold. They do a clever HUD gizmo that can be paired to a phone and maybe the new GPS...

All you would then need in a games facility- you wouldn't have to ride the thing anywhere-just sit on it and stare at the screen!

John

I have it on my 2013 LC TE, and it does indeed show all the my motorcycle pages.:thumb

hi Nutty,
Ive a 2013 too ... how do you get to these 'my motorcycle pages??,, cheers :thumb2

Scroll right until you get to the screen with ALL the stats, then roll the controller down, to the customisable screens.:thumb

H'm sounds like a lot of pointless gimmicks.
Bet I'd be sick of them after a day or so.

Anyone after a second hand 660?

Seems to me that any one with a WC is incapable of posting in the right section let alone using a sat nav ah no forgot they have to reinforce the fact they have bought a WC.

From what I see on my device (iOS) through TapaTalk this is just the LC section. I follow the route: UKGSER - Forums - The Bikes - BMW - R1200GS Watercooled. No mention of the word technical. So maybe this looks like a general discussion thread. And given half the posters here don't even have an LC perhaps it's just a general chat forum.

Can't see what's wrong with this being on the LC page, yes it could have gone in the GPS section but it is relevant to the GS, so what's the problem?

I am interested in reading about this so thanks to those giving useful information!

Someone please tell me why this is in the 1200 Technical section?

The OP asked a specific question related to the Nav V on the LC GS.:rob

As you were.

Here's a thought. Why not buy a sat nav to help you NAVIGATE. All the rest is pointless shite :blast. Before anyone starts calling me technophobe, yes I do have one (a Zumo 660) I use it when I go abroad to NAVIGATE.:blast

Got to play with mine properly today, and it's much better than the last. One feature I like is that you can zoom in or out by rolling the wheel forward or back, which may sound silly, but it's much easier than holding the wheel left or right.

Glad I upgraded.:beerjug:

That's one thing I wanted to hear.

What about the menus, can you access the same menu with the wheel mouse that you access when tapping the screen?

I don't think you can go into "settings" and the like, probably for safety reasons, but you can access a lot more with the wheel than you could on the IV.:thumb
