Hi !
Been lurking in the background for a few weeks now.
Thought I may as well jump in and say hello.. (and maybe start adding my tenp's worth to some excellent threads ;) )

Currently ride a Ducati Monster S4 (Senna Rep if that means anything to ya) and just put it up for sale so I can start looking for a 1200.
I heard that BMW dealers ain't so generous with P/ex elsewhere in this forum

Unless anyone fancied a swop .. you know move up to something more reliable
:P

Before that had a bit of a love affair with Kawasaki's .. ZXR750's and ZX9R.

PS .. Who are these Charlie and Ewan fellows that all keep talking about !?!!

Tom.

Hi Tomm - welcome to the tosser town...

From a Monster to a GS? Hmmm.. talk me thru that one Tomm..BTW if there's some logic in your argument then you are in the wrong place...

PS Make sure it's red...the GS that is...yellow is for brochures.

Cheers

Hi Tomm

I came from a Multistrada to a 1200GS!

You won't regret it... :thumb

Welcome

Welcome,
Don't forget you should only really buy a 1200 if you are a rich posing ewan Mc Gregor wanabe or thats what some of the others will tell ya ;)

Seriously though, the Yellow Ones are the best, If you can't get yellow I would recommend the Blue or Grey, don't listen to the people that bought Red ones, there just trying to get you to make the same mistake as them, so they don't feel so bad about it..... :thumb

Cheers, Piggers

At least they can get Rallye 2 suits to match.....

Thanks all ..

Why change from a Monster?
Worst bike to take a pillion on EVER.
100mile tank range
60 mile wrist range !!!

Me rich? After owning a Ducati :roll

Colour .. I really like the grey/black meself. But I hear red ones are faster !?!!

In all honesty the S4 is a fantastic handling, lovely looking, awesome sound thing full of character. But find it now staying in the garage for sunny sindays and trackdays only .. I used to ride everywhere !!!!

Now have to go to Wales every other weekend and had been thinking 'if only I had a different bike that could do the mileage ...'

So here i am !!!! :bounce1

Yellow is definitely the better looking. You will have to buy a Savannah suit though to get the matching and obligatory BMW kit

Hi Tomm

I think you need both......go on... keep the Monster and buy a GS ;)
To quote a friend of mine "he who dies with the most toys - wins"

welcome to the site Tomm and don't be afraid to jump straight in and post some rubbish like the rest of us :thumb

Just do it - take the plunge :D :thumb :D :thumb

i did, moved from sports bikes to a GS only a couple of months ago and been :D ever since, got fed up with all the back ache, arm ache and aching wrists (although not all from riding!!)

And the yellow ones are the best, had beak fitted on mine looks great

go on just do it

cheers

I moved from a MK1 Speed Triple, fantastic bike, loads of style but you know after a while you get fed up of riding to bikes shops etc and now I,ve got a GS I,m out all the time on the hills getting loads of fresh air and having a reet laugh. However what you want is a hardcore red 1100 not a custard yellow 1150 like Xbooties :dabone

and i am only sat 2 foot away from him at bloody work :tosser and on a friday night :spitfire

dont listen to him - Yellow better than Red

Get a big black one up ya

Welcome to the forum.

I don't believe there is a faster colour; Red, Blue, Yellow, Grey...sheesh. All you're going to see is the road and the tach anyway; black is less distracting.

Hmm .. black/gray is definitely winning me over at the moment ..

and it means I don't have to go out and buy new leathers !!!! :D

How do you insert a pic into a reply then .. ?

Hi Tomm - don't be swayed - you know in your bones red us best - think of all the good things that are red:

Manu U
Lipstick
Ferrari's
Ducatis
Cross of St George
Sunset
Chicken Tikka Masarla
Raspberry Jam
Madonna's pubes - honest
Rare Scotch fillet of beef
Rudolph's nose

Gotta be red!
