I think it must some basic flaw in the system where it just cannot cope with the buffeting of a decent ride out, as I cannot see any other reason why the system keeps failing.

That's why you need Blue Coloured Teeth wireless kit :thumb . I have lot of experiences with wired intercom, and they suck big time. Had to repair the cables ALOT times coz of buffeting + A LOT of constant hassle connecting them every ride, mess with the cables disconnecting and get off the bike etc etc. Not worth it for my taste.

2 - 2 x Basic kit (integral headphones and microphone) which you fit into the helmet one for rider - one for pillion (I've never got round to fitting it to the pillion helmet as its never worked for long enough).

3 - Various Cables to connect to phone , mp3 player and pillion

Chris,

Does the integral speaker kit allow you to connect directly to an MP3 or do you need the intercom kit too?

I'm going to buy a pair of N102 flip-up lids from HG for SWMBO and myself, but we only want helmet speakers for listening to music (on separate MP3 players as I f*ckin' hate Missy Elliott and the other crap she listens to in the car :o ). I've got Bass Monster speakers in my Schuberth S1 but I'd like integrated speakers in the N102 if possible.

Don't bother Sven cause the intercom speakers are not going to compare with the Bass monsters. I fitted PX100 stenheissers in my nolan for exactly the same reason as you. Fit in perfectly and offer true hifi quality. My brother says that his nolan speakers are a let down.

I assume you ditch the headband and Velcro the speakers into the helmet:nenau

You assume correct!!! Cost is £30 from Richer Sounds and at the mo I am trying to find out how to use them with a microphone in an intercom senario. I figure I could butcher them on to and existing intercom headset but would like to be more scientific. You have to pack the back out slightly for them to sit close enough to your lug holes buy the quality is better than any intercom jobbies + they are really comfy. Hope this helps.

Go and try one on at your local Nolan dealers, find the best price online and then ask your local dealer to match the price :thumb

If they won't price match (taking into account postage costs), then at least you'll have tried to spend your money locally.

Better news on this front.

The last fix changed the charger unit which appears to have fixed the issue properly for the first time.

In fact the charger was the first thing to be changed, but in the first instance it did not fix it. So in the original installation there were two problem one of which was the charger.

In the attempt to keep it simple there is no way on knowing if the charge is actually charging the battery up - so they could improve the charger unit to actually have a little flashing light or something.

Regarding Sven's question. You don't need the intercom unit to connect to an Ipod or similar - or to a mobile phone. Yes the speakers are not that high a quality, but the unit does come with a microphone.

Although I agree with the basic tennant about bluetooth system not needing a helmet to helmet wire (and this is what I started looking for) this system did not allow the connection of the Ipod.

Anyway things have improved greatly now the system seems to be working for more than a few days at a time.

Oh finally you can get them at Hein Gericke and despite the problem I had they were never too busy to sort it out so I would recommend them.

Keep us posted on how you are getting on! :thumb

I still have not made my mind on what to put in my Nolan! :mmmm

n-com is not stereo!

Just bought the basic kit as an experiment. Shoulda read the fine print...the audio output is mono! Whilst it works well with the tom tom rider, and using the tom tom bluetooth dongle to wirelessly attach the mobile phone is pretty cool, but I'm back to using canal earphones for music quality.

Sorta defeats the purpose but if I'm alert I'll see the incoming call on the tom tom and mute the ipod shuffle.

Happy with mine, so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys, just thought I'd add to this thread. Just back from having the bluetooth kit fitted to my N-Com helmet and linked the phone, seems the dogs nuggetts, hassle free comms on my way home and seemed clear as a bell up to about 70mph. Gps linked at this stage through the cable and seemed also fine. Big thanks to the nice people at Hein Gericke, Belfast for all their help, I like to leave the technical stuff to those who appear to know what they are doing, find better results that way. Will keep you informed of any further developments, cheers,

N - com kit?

:rob Hi Drifter has been a while since I was on about the N-com. What set up did you buy? :thumb2

Did the shop have any demo kit?

I still have not bought any system for my N-com. as I would like to try before I buy!:D

No demo kit, I just stuck my neck out having read reviews here and there about the kit. Now that being said there did appear to have been some probs but my interpretation has been human as opposed to technical error, hence I let those nice people at Hein Gericke do kit!

I will let you know over the forthcoming weeks if I am still singing it's praises and sure if you want to see the kit we can arrange something. According to Hein Gericke staff in Belfast there has been a mountain of the kit sold, Mmmmmm, time will tell, cheers,
