New OEM gel battery. Charge for how long before fitting?

My Dad finally succumbed and bought a new battery.

Only he was told to charge it for 3 hours, something the dealer could have told him over the phone and done for him .

Seeing as my dad has no bike battery charger, I am left lugging around the 25kg block to my house.

So how long to charge so when its fitted it works...?

if you are using a proper optimizer then over night should be enough,if poss leave it a couple of days to make sure its fully charged

I stuck a new battery in mine last Saturday.

Bought it at 10.00am, ripped off the plastic wrapping, stuck it in the bike and started it up.
