The ballast is attached to an 'L' shaped bracket, which is fitted onto a fastener that also holds the oil line on its way to the oil cooler. I've fitted a bit of velcro to hold the top edge of the ballast against the inside of the bodywork and to stop it vibrating. Not exactly stylish engineering, but it does the job and keeps the ballast out of sight and out of the weather. It had to be fitted with the connectors towards the outside to avoid fouling the forks, and to avoid the connectors touching the bodywork.
The HID system came from an eBay seller inChina, who was later delisted by eBay for some reason. It only cost £95 for two lamps etc. It looks similar to the type originally supplied by Hids4u. It seems to work fine - no bulb failure messages or similar problems
