Good news is our friends at Rugged Roads are going to make a bit that I have being trying to find for a while now. It's the procetive cover that stops damage caused by your right boot, the BMW bit doesn't quite solve the problem IMHO. Hopefully it will be made in the same style and to the same standard of their other covers, This pic illustrates the area that will be protected, cover shown for illustration only.
