With a number of manufacturers offering a number of deals on new bikes pre and post September delivery I wanted to gauge BMW offers.

I'm looking to buy a new 1250 GSA HP this week for September delivery and wanted to ask fellow forum members who have recently purchased this bike if £1,000 off list is the arrange dealer discount?

Send them all an email Chris, tell them cash buyer, and will buy now otherwise you will buy another brand, see what comes back..............;)

I was contemplating that mate and I'm going to email the two localish dealers I purchased bikes from before. Cotswold Cheltenham and Bahnstormer Maidenhead. Both have looked after me previously :thumb2

i could have had £900 off the price of a gsa exclusive with no px
i went used instead as its my first gsa

Chris, don’t take this the wrong way, but no dealer will do a deal via email. You could be anyone, another dealer, wind up merchant etc.

You know Dean at Bahnstormer, just pop in and see him to negotiate a deal. Or give him a call. ;)

When I picked mine up in May, no other dealer could touch Park Lane with their discount to serving or former military or emergency service personnel.

IMHO you need to go in and have a frank and direct conversation with the sales guy face to face, tell him you will place the order there and then for the right deal.

I did, and it worked for me, both with car and motorbike :)

7% off is a reasonable expectation for car or bike...

Ducati Manchester have a 700 mile GSA HP For Sale, it looks like a low version but I could be wrong.

That’s because they are the only dealer in the UK, owned by BMW UK.

I recommend you choose 3 of your preferred dealers, then call each dealer, ask to speak to sales manager, then go straight for the very best offer they can give you. Make sure you tell them you are a serious buyer and will do the deal straight away, if its a deal your happy with. Also, tell them that you are talking to other dealers, you are not a time waster, you are ready to buy a bike now.
Good luck.

Key points in my mind are:

- End of Quarter Sales Targets

March, June, September, December. Are your key months. BUT, if that dealer has hit his target.... or is way off his target.... they won't be interested. What you need is to find that one Goldilocks Dealer who needs just a bit more to hit target.... they'll be hungry for you. Go find them.

- End of Financial Year

Most are March. They'll just want as much revenue as possible. The last week in March is when I bought my bike :D

Might be worth going onto Companies House and check when your local dealers end of year is, just so not to presume its March?

- After that, it's just down to negotiation.

Good bit of advice there...

I looked into a 1250 last month at Coopers in Tunbridge Wells but no discounts on offer as they cannot get enough 1250 GSs to satisfy the demands of existing customers. I am established as a loyal customer there as well. Good luck with your hunt. :thumb2
