I currently own a pair of Oxtar boots that get wet inside if you spit on them.
I've been bitterly disappointed out just how much water they let in. I expected at least a modicum of splash proof-ness. I only need to go through one puddle and I'm soaked.
Now, I'm only on the green lanes then riding home so not hard core by any means.

I'm interested in anyone's views of the new 2010 Rallye Pro GS boots?

No experience myself but there's a thread running on ADVRider - that claims that they aren't waterproof.

I don't want to dissapoint you but the BMW GS boots are simply Forma Dominator Comp boots with BMW branding.:blast

If you check the specks for the boots you will see that they don't say anything about waterproofness...If you want to improve it...it would be better to buy a waterproof pair of socks...:rob

I have a pair of Wulfsport motocross boots...I admit i don't go wading in water with them, but they have been walked through deep puddles and abused by me generally. To date I have not had any wet feet.

These are not an expensive make, but i find them very comfy to wear - just like riding in my slippers.

Hope this helps

Cheers guys, I will check those suggestions out.
The waterproof socks are a great idea. I'm in the US next month and they have an REI which sells these.

Thanks
Ollie

AFAIK there is no such thing as a waterproof MX/Off Road boot.

Either, do as most people do when off roading, and wear waterproof socks (Sealskinz etc) or, as mentioned, get something like the Sidi Adventure which is totally waterproof (I use these as my 'road' boot). Whilst not a full-on off road boot they are fine for bimbling around on green lanes.

I have the last version of the GS boot ( Blue and Grey) and they are not waterproof.
As i understand it, this type of off roading boot is not actually supposed to be waterproof, because otherwise water will just fill up in the boot itself and you'll be riding around in a boot ful of the stuff!

Having said that, the GS boot does a pretty good job of keeping most of it out, and i seem to have a perticular talent for falling off in BIG puddles!!

Hope that helps

Although......so long as I wear waterproof trousers over them, my Sidi Flexforce SRS never let in a drop in the worst Scottish downpour. I'd expect the replacement Crossfire SRS to be as good.

Richie, that helps thanks. Just the comment I'm after. I'm not expected these boots to be waterproof but have some level of water resistance!!
My current boots only need to see mositure in the air and I get wet feet.

I like the new BMW boots and they are very confortable so think I'll plump for them:augie

Cant comment on the GS boot personally, I have the Oxtar boots and I agree with what you say, I even got wet feet with waterproof socks :blast
I've started wearing my BMW Santiago boots recently, Goretex and a good level of off road protection for green laning.
