New rear disc and pads - bedding in?

so you have a brand new perfectly true disc and a brand new set of pads, just how much bedding in do you think will be needed? just ride the bloody thing

No there is not a short cut because one is not needed. Imagine you are the first owner and have just wheeled the bike out of the showroom. Would the dealer advise you to bed the brakes in? They may advise you about new tyres and keeping the revs down but not as I recall any caution about the brakes.

New pads new disc just get on with it. Braking might improve (a little) when new pads have worn into an old ribbed disc but not by very much. I certainly noticed no change in stopping ability.

In any case, the bike decides how much rear brake you need and its not got a bedding in setting.
