ive just had my remus Y piece fitted and removed the cat, ive kept the original pipe on,
when i tried to start the bike it would only run with the choke on, when it had warmed up it run ok,
when revving the bike it backfires,
is this ok,
i asked the fitter at cannons and he says, "its not unheared of"
Is this ok, or have i a prob:confused:

Check the throttle cable where it meets the throttle body. The cable may not be seated correctly.

Or if its not that you may have an air leak in the exhaust joints somewhere.

Oh Yes!

I have Y piece and Remus can and it backfires just as I like it to.

Some may say it's poor sealing around the joints - que experts....

If it only runs with the Choke on it will be this.....

Dont worry "they all do that sir....."

But how about this then, from my own experiances, the better you seal the joint the better it backfires...... so figure that out then

I spent ages sealing mine, emery clothed the pipe to take any high spots of, and inside the can for the same reason. Applied sealant and left it to cure before starting it up just to make sure.

Went out the next day for a whizz, all was going till it did the Mother of all backfires........:yikes frightened the darn life out of me!!

How does that work then

I have now refitted the Remus can with no sealant and no messing about with emery cloth either and........yep, no backfiring?
