New Schuberth C4 And R2 helmets to arrive in Spring 2017!!!!!

Visor Fogging

So my thoughts on the C4 having used it for commuting in this morning (20miles)....

1. Higher at the back of my head so felt the cold more this morning when compared to my Arai
2. Visor fogged badly and wouldn't clear

Critical list looking back at it. It's a good helmet, but I had very high expectations for it and waited what seemed forever for it to be released.

Hi mate,

What was the issue with the visor fogging? Are you saying the Schuberth 'pinlock' system is no good?

SC1 instructions on a MS word crib sheet

I have reproduced the Sena SC1 quick guide instructions in a simple table format which I've printed and laminated. The intention is that it should sit in the pocket of my tank bag so I can easily refer to it, until I get more acquainted to using it.

I've attached the word document which has two sizes of font on one document, page one (larger) and page two (normal). Feel free to make use of either one and adapt to your own needs.

brilliant! Great idea. However not to want to seem ungrateful - I did get a quick guide table with the SC1 comms set which also small enough to fit into my wallet.

I'm going to start a C4 and SC 1 topic under the right forum now I think. I've got a few gripes with the helmet now having used it for a couple hundred miles now.

I've just ordered the SC1 comms kit from Just Helmets to go with my orange C4.

I apologised to Pete at JH for not buying the helmet from him,but it's not a UK colour.

But if anybody needs anything helmet-related , Pete should be the default first call as his customer service is second to none.

Dotty,have you started a new thread ?

What issues have you with C4 ?

I've just been in another Polo Motorrad store to buy some chain lube and they had the orange one on the shelf.Looks great in the flesh .

Yep - new topic started dedicated to the helmet and comms kit. Under clothing and protective gear ....

Arsey, if not available in UK then for this colour scheme Motostorm advertised price is 749 Euros. It is £617.32 here www.athleteshop.co.uk/schuberth-c4-legacy-motorcycle-helmet-black-orange-278715 and also saw another Google ad saying enter SCHUBERTH-DISCOUNT for 15% off which would make it £524.72. Again limited sizes available currently though you can enter your e-mail and they will notify you when in stock. Downside is they do not appear to stock the Comms units which when bought as part of the Helmet are sold VAT Free so without this you would lose the £32 Standard /£47 Advanced VAT 'saving' if you had to buy the Comms Unit separately.

Thought it was too good to be true !!

Having been promised an email with tracking details and having heard nothing for nearly a week I called them today to be told that the helmet was no longer available and that they would give me a refund .

Nice of them to let me know !!!

So I'm now in Luxembourg and heading to Le Mans tomorrow. Does anybody know of a chain of French stores that may sell the C4 as do Polo Motorrad in Germany ?

Ta

Ignore the above.
I got hold of Pete at Just Helmets and he had a matt black XL C4 in stock so I've gone for that.

Can't be arsed with these flaky European sites or go on a hunt in France when I know Just Helmets is so good to deal with.

Well said Arsey.

I had pre-ordered a C4, and had been politely hassling Pete about delivery time. He knows I am going to Dent in 2 weeks, so sent out a large in my chosen colour, in the knowledge that as I'm between sizes it might not fit. I tried it today, felt it a bit too tight, so gave Pete a call. Upshot is he is about to get an XL in stock, so will send it out straight away to let me try them both side by side as it were. He will then arrange pick up of the one that I don't keep.

I know some people have found cheaper outlets, but service like this is worth paying that little bit more for. Thanks Pete.

I am in between sizes to. I bought a medium c3 pro and fitted cheek pads out of large. Works a treat. Give it s go, but you might find that cheek pads on their own will not be available to buy yet for quite some time.

I was initially not using Just Helmets as I wanted the orange colour which is not imported to U.K. but the website listing one for sale above proved to be talking bollox as didn't have the helmet and didn't bother to tell me .

It just shows the gulf in customer service between such fly by night sites and genuine people like Pete at JustHelmets, who I've used for years and has always been a star , providing an amazing service .

Spread the word and use Just Helmets .

I probably shouldn't be saying this but Pete told me he considered giving up a while back as business was tough with so many European websites promising the earth .

You may be lucky but trust me, most of these sites are shite and it would be a travesty if Just Helmets were gone .

Make Pete at Just Helmets your first port of call whenever you need a new helmet. You won't regret it !!!

Popped into Just Helmets today on way back from Scotlandshire.

Pete does seem to be a nice chap,

Now I've got to find £708 for C4 and comms. when it comes in.

Oh and Arsey's Matt Black XL was a bit tight so gone for XXL :green gri

Hi Arsey, it was only because you wanted Orange and I saw it on that site that I sent you the link :blagblah, glad you've got sorted and from Pete too :clap. I'm also awaiting him getting my size/colour in as well. :thumby:

No, I really appreciate your help !!!
But I did think it was too good to be true that they only had my size in stock on a weird website called 'Athleteshop! !!!

Thanks for the advice EVskij.

Not sure if it would work for a difference between large and XL given the change in shell sizes happens at this point. I assume the large has the thinnest cheek pads of the small shell size, and the XL has the largest cheek pads of the larger shell size. Of course, if the XL is still a wee bit tight, the large helmet cheek pads may fit (but don't worry Pete if you're reading this, I wouldn't do that to you).
