Thinking about a new screen for the 2005 GS as the standard one is both scratched and just not quite tall enough. Any suggestions for a good replacement? I have seen a MRA vario screen on ebay which looks interesting as it can be a variable height, anybody got one on their bike? Don't really want to spend much more than about £150 on the screen.

251194820798 item no on eBay can't put a link up, a couple of the guys on here got them and rate it thinking of getting one for my GS.
I highly recommend the Givi AF330. Very quiet infinitely adjustable screen and I can ride (in Germany) at 100mph with my visor up.

+ 1 for Givi 330
+2 Search is your friend....the Givi seems to be the preferred choice as you can adjust the height. It certainly transformed the bike for me especially with the addition of winglets....as others have said... 90mph visor up no problems...really quiet and no buffeting.
If its 'not quite tall enough' I would recommend a Cee Baileys screen. They come in different heights and are very good quality with the added benefit of not looking complete shite
Are you implying the Givi screen looks complete shite? Have to agree there. Spoils the sleek and handsome lines of the GS!!!

330 here too..
I tried the high n wide from Nippy, and the MRA, and eventually settled on the Givi. Deffo an improvement over the OE screen.

The Givi 330 seems to be the one to go for judging by the people who have them, but its an ugly looking peice of kit and not very aerodynamic looking either. I must say that the MRA vario looks a lot better but it may not do the job properly. There is not a lot of difference in the cost of the two the Givi is a few quid more. Going by the wisdom on here I think I will go for the Givi warts and all

can you measure how wide is upper part of this screen please? Found info is 54cm high and 54cm wide (suppose lower part). Would like to compare with my screen. Thanks in advance. Romek

For me one of the best screens must be the genuine BMW North American market screen, bought from a fellow member on here, it's a bit higher and a bit wider and no additional expensive support bars!

Why would you want to open your visor at 90 mph
Having ridden for my first 20 years with an open face I appreciate the safety a full face gives and the ability to stop my face being jet washed when it rains.....but never quite got used to the closed in feeling....like the fresh air so wear shotgun glasses with open visor. The Givi is great because it helps put all the crap including the bug attack over your head.
Having said that I now have a GSA with an MRA X treme to create the same effect.

The upper part of the screen is oval shaped, but is about 40cm tall and 41cm wide at its widest point.
Fully extended, the screen in 55cm tall.

Yes, thank you very much sharkojoints. We can find the same screen on a merket as a Kappa KAF330. On Italian ebay costs 88 euro's. Sounds pretty interesting.

How does the Givi AF330 compare to the standard GSA screen. Mine is an 08 bike but the screen is noisy and turbulence on m-ways is tiring.
How about the Powerbronze ones.
I've just replaced my standard screen for a light tinted one.

At £75 ish, a damn good alternative.

-1 for the givi 330 i hated it, it was like a sail stuck to the front of the bike, and i had a go with a lot of different combos and could never get it right, each to their own i suppose, i read all the posts on here about it and was convinced it was the one for me, you wont know till you try it, buy a 2nd one if you can and save a bit of money
