I've recently replaced the original Indian made CEAT tyres with a pair of Bridgestone BT46 (£245 fitted to loose wheels with new Michelin tubes from SMD Tyres in Leigh) I've just finished the initial 100 mile scrubbing them in. I have to say they are a big improvement over the hard wearing CEATs. The bike feels more planted and turns in better. They grip well on the cold wet roads I've been on lately. I decided against going with a tubeless conversion, mainly because I only use the bike for days out and local runs, so a puncture will be a minor inconvenience that roadside assistance can sort out. I carry a spare tube that fits either wheel.
Next job is to replace the OE pads with EBC HH front and rear, then oil + filter change and possibly the DNA air filter and snorkel mod.
I've got used to the sound from the new Enfield precision silencers and love the music it plays, but there's no way I'll take the baffles out, I like my neighbours too much.
