New Starter Motor Required, Options ?

Dealer tells me the starter motor on the 1150RT is on the way out, how he knows this I have yet to find out.

They quoted £190 odd + vat + 1/2 labour

Am perfectly capable of getting one myself and fitting, just don't know where to get the best deal.

New, recon or used ?

The Valeo is quite simple to dismember. If you know what bits you need , the guy at Tiedemann Auto-Elektrik is very helpful and happy to send stuff to the UK.

If the starter is the same as the 1100/1150gs then go for a rebuild, we have had two done locally for £40.00 each.

Pretty sure that 97 on they are all the same until the 1200GS etc.

Current favourite is to rebuild it, though if I can find someone to do it for £40 then will probably do that. Will give a few auto electrical places a call tomorrow.
