New steed

Looks really nice, I’ve always been a fan of those upswept exhausts. What are you thinking you might alter/upgrade?

Ooo, where to start. Decat, upgrade indicators to LEDs and bar end mirrors first. Then fork springs and shocks to upgrade over the winter.
For 64hp, surprisingly it has enough go in it already, and it has really smooth power delivery, so not really going to do anything engine wise. However, comfort is a bit lacking, so will look at getting the seat padded up a bit, as it feels like I'm sitting on the rear subframe rails.

The flat seat from the Bonnie range will raise the seat height a little. Lowering pegs from TEC makes riding a little more comfortable.
I had a 2019 model and enjoyed it after a few mods.
Eventually got rid of it for a Speed Twin 1200.
The bike delivers 64 bhp and when you give it some, it doesn’t disappoint!

I’d try getting the seat reupholstered, it looks just right as it is. Some decent quality foam should do the job.

I did wonder about the Bonnie seat. Will see if there are any good condition ones on the evil bay

The 1200 has twin front discs - I was wondering whether the brakes up to snuff on the 900?

I speak as a previous F650GS owner incidentally.

The brakes on the 900 are more than good enough for the job they are designed to do. Mine had a good workout around Snowdonia on Wednesday, and I could not fault them.

One useful accessory that is not readily available is a good screen for touring.
Triumph do a couple of screens, and the one they classify as the touring screen is woefully inadequate. After market screens are a bit hit and miss too.
Having said that, most people just fit a fly screen, mainly for styling but they do keep the speedo clean!

First farkles fitted. Rather expensive Triumph LED indicators. Triumph thoughtfully add an option via the dash menu to program the indicator type, so no need add resistors to stop the rapid flash rate.

One addition I fitted to mine was bar end mirrors. I think I bought the TEC ones as these were considerably cheaper than the Triumph ones. They look in my opinion far better than the standard ones and worked very well!
( have a look at the speed twin 1200 which has them as standard). If you do fit them, get some black blanking plugs or screws to seal the holes of the original mirrors.
Also worth getting is a front fender extender.
Easy to fit and saves a lot of shit getting onto the radiator and engine.

Thanks for the suggestions @AdrianS. The Tec bar end mirrors are on my radar, and quite like the idea of hanging them below the bars, rather than above.
