New to me TC

It is quite spendy though!

Tab2 works well for me, no doubt will need an upgrade to Ta3 at some point.

I’m with you Micky

On the last France tour I shocked my fellow travellers on day 3 by getting out a paper map with yellow highlighted route.

How they laughed. We got everywhere we wanted to.

Yea, it’s not cheap for sure!

Hmmmm, I was one of the first to get a Winderlinq a few years ago and was very underwhelmed by it. Flogged it and moved on. I am hoping the the DMD dudes flog an OBD sender that will transmit to a tablet.

Looking at the app it takes its data from an ELM327 unit

there as cheap as chips

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/28419269...qyjwT3BJwRDEu2vgW7vpKk4X5Pg=|tkp:BFBMto_fq_xg

but you need to be aware of some caveats

1) Think of where the OBD port is on your bike - A full size ELM unit will stick out quite some way

2) If you have a round OBD plug , you'll need an adaptor,

3) I know the elm units need power to operate, but they may stop the bike from going to sleep once started,

so you would need to unplug it every time you stop for a long time / end of the day

4) ELM units often stop fault codes being logged by the bike, so you may encounter a problem, if you' ve seen the code via the ELM,

but when a dealer runs there software no codes are stored ( it may have changed now as my units are several years old)

4) You can get ELM 327 units in all shapes and sizes & configurations (usb / bluetooth) , but there are many variants of the ELM 327 protocol -

so you could end up with an ELM327 lite or ELM327 full fat, throuble is until you buy the unit & plug it in, you wont know!

I have 2 units one full fat and one lite , but they both look the same

For £10 or so its worth a punt, but ELM units will only do code reading / fault resetting, they don't have the same functionality as a GS911

GS911 en route. I was more looking for the rpm, engine temp live data to support the app.

If you need to tuck the ELM 327 out of the way it is only 4 wires to piggyback an OBD2 connector on the bike to use as well as the round 10 pin.
I fitted an OBD2 socket from a scrap Metro, any old car socket will do , cost nothing just 4 bits of wire.

Now you’re talking. Nice one.
