Hi everyone — I’ve recently moved to the Warrington area from Leicestershire and I’m looking to get back into regular rides and meet some local bikers.

Are there any riding groups, regular meetups, or weekly ride-outs around Warrington or nearby that are open to new members?

Any recommendations would be really appreciated 👍

Thanks in advance!

Stu (Brut33) and I are in the St Helens area, just a few miles from Warrington. I'll give you a shout when we next have a day out if you like. I prefer the Yorkshire Dale's and Forest of Bowland for runs out, usually mid week.

I'm another one from St Helens area (Rainhill)... Not ridden much over the last few years due to 2x house moves and a house renovation, so looking forward to getting back in the saddle this year. I'll be up for a ride out once my 1100GS is fixed.... It runs fine, but doesn't currently stop, which, being a traditionalist, I've always felt was quite important.
Can't do mid-week, work being the darned inconvenience that it is. However, I'm often free on a Friday, and of course, at weekends dependent on family commitments. I tend to be a 'stick to the speed limits and enjoy the journey' kind of rider. My sportsbike riding bikermates have a more...erm.... relaxed view on speedlimits which just leaves me stressed, hence I've tended of late to ride on my own more often than not.

That would be great, really appreciate that! Cheers

I'll second that.
We have some nice days out up there, and there's always a café stop for the usual intake of healthy food.🍔🥧🍦🍩🍰

I hope you get your bike sorted soon . None of the boy racer stuff from me either. It's ashame you can't make it during the week with us retired gentlemen of the road, but if you ever fancy a spin let us know.👍

I'm in Fuerteventura at moment, when I get back I'll have a word with my other half 😁
I hope your weather is still as fine as it was last month. I believe there's a calima on it's way so you'll need to take cover in a bar.😊 Enjoy🍻

It's windy as fcuk at the moment, but 24c and sunny. We had a couple of heavy showers yesterday, but plenty of bars to shelter in. I'll bell you when I get back about 8th March.

I'm a Whiston/Prescot person, first year that I'm waiting for the weather to pick up before I go out. Look at the Scouse Amigos on Face Book, they very active.

Keep an eye out for a red 1100GS as I'm just up the road from you...

Give me a shout when your going again Al, be good to catch up 👍👍

Will do, I haven't seen you since Dent a few years back. I've been through Haydock many times but failed to spot you. :)
Maybe we have a chance to rekindle and revitalise the NW section as there now seems to be quite a few in the North Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire area.

Yes, the NW section certainly seems one of the quieter ones. Would be a good thing to meet some new folk to go out with, and see some new places. Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland sound like excellent options.
I tend to head towards Wales (habit as much as anything, although I have connections to Anglesey, so often take the A5 from Llangollen to Menai Bridge and various points on the island for sentimental reasons). I used to take a route in the car through Wales to Aberaeron harbour before I got my bike license. Although it was a long time ago (30 years, I think), my rose-tinted glasses make me think it'd be a nice ride out - mostly sweeping single carriage A-roads IIRC.

In other news, I was on the phone with Ted (Motorevive) regarding my braking woes, and being the top chap that he is, rather than coming out and billing me, he's given me a list of things to check and try first to hopefully get back on the road with minimum expense... Job for the weekend....

That's jolly decent of Ted. That's one of the endearing features of this forum, folk will freely offer good advice and will genuinely try to help out.
Of course one could dive into the twilight zone area of the pub and be abused and have the piss taken, but mostly said tongue in cheek, although one or two deserve to be told properly that they are utter twats.

Just spotted this thread again. If anyone is available I'm about to set off for J&S, Oakmere. Should be arriving there between 12.30/1.00pm.
This goes for you Al in Fuerteventura if you can make it, if not you just have no dedication. :D

PS, for those who haven't met me, look out for an athletic guy in Hugo Boss leathers.
