So,
Triumph have at last started to advertise the latest Tiger Sport 660.

Cruise control now standard. The biggest moan about the earlier ones not having it.
Quick shifter, My Triumph Connectivity, Sport Riding mode, more LED lights, and something to do with cornering ABS, all fitted as standard.

Virtually no increase in price. Triumph have just devalued all the earlier bikes.

£50 more than the outgoing bike

Triumph were discounting all the 660 Trident models (except the white one) a couple of months back

Just had an email from the factory

“ unfortunately the cruise control cannot be retro fitted to earlier models”.

So there we are!

I'm surprised at that response as I know you can retrofit CC to the 900 & 1200 Bonneville models from 2016>
That’s what the factory said! Probably due to the wiring loom not compatible. Or its Triumphs way of getting you to buy a new bike!

The CC is a £330 accessory for the Bonnies.
It appears to be a replacement right hand switch assembly.
Most of the triumph switch assemblies appear very similar and the throttles are all electric potentiometers so not sure what is missing from the Tiger 660.

Err, isn’t that what every manufacturer of every vehicle does? If the new model doesn’t offer anything over the old model why would anyone change?

It wouldn’t be so bad if the new model with all the extras had a price hike, but to keep the new model virtually the same price as the old one does take the piss out of those who have just bought one!

There'll always be that aspect of a new model versus timing of purchase though. If they'd priced the new model £1k higher, they'd no doubt put buyers off or push them towards the new 800. (Just look what KTM have done for years with considerable price drops at the year end)

I bought my 900 RP knocking on 3 years ago brand new. I neither know nor care whether the newer models have any upgrades etc. I’m happy with mine. I’ve no idea if the new ones are cheaper, dearer or the same price. I would guess they have things mine doesn’t otherwise it’s pointless. As for cruise con. Mine has it, I use it on the French peage when going to Chamonix. That’s it, it’s no use anywhere in this country and it certainly wasn’t anything I even considered when buying the bike.
The newer Ford Ranger pickups have things on that mine doesn’t, that’s progress.

It's a left hand side switch pack and the dealer telling the bike that the CC is now fitted

I will have a word with my man when I'm next in the dealership re retrofitting CC to the 660
