Hi Guys,

I need a new back tyre on my 07 12 Adventure. I am thinking about the new tourance tyre. Couple of questions:

My front isn't too bad, still a bit of life in it. Considering I am planning to change from the old tourance to the new one should I just go ahead and change the front anyway?

Should I go to the dealer where I bought the bike or get ti done elsewhere?

EDIT: Just spoke with the dealer. They won't have the new tourance until well into the summer, so no good for me. He has told me £112 for a fitted rear tourance and they don't have any fronts. So, three more questions.

Does anyone have the new tourance? Is £112 reasonable? And, does anyone else somewhere near milton keynes have a pair of tourances?

The trouble with getting your friendly BM dealer to change the tyres is that you'll pay BM technicians rates £50 ish for the priviledge. If they damage the wheel though you're in the right place to get a replacement and some / most will hold thier hands up, IME, and admit the "problem. So you're looking at about £50 extra for a pair of wheels on a roll in / roll out service.

Doing it elsewhere you'll undoubtably save money most times, guess it depends on if you're the glass half full / glass half empty type of guy :nenau

Why don't you ring Steve on 01270 760795, ( F & B Motorcycle tyres ) see what he has in stock and if he could fit you in Sunday, ride in ride out service, tyres fitted then I am only 5 miles away, two birds with one stone :thumb2

I am actually quite concerned about the rear. I think there might only be a couple of hundred left in it and I will have that done before Saturday. I think heading up you direction on Sunday might be pushing it slightly.

I have just been talk to a crowd in Bedford, quite near me. He quoted me 230 for the pair. When I told him the BMW garage were quoting me 210 he agreed to match. Is that a fair price?
