New very soon to be owner

Just thought i would say Hi to everyone.
My R1300GS Gets delivered this Thursday :-)

been riding 39 years yikes!!
Also have 650 interceptor and GSX-R600 SRAD
Hi I did own one of the first 1300 gs in December 23 I ran it for six months but couldn’t cope with noisy motor and naff gearbox so went back to a 1250.I recently had a go on a 2025 1300 and found the motor to be quieter and the gearbox loads better am I just imagining this or not before I waste more money 😳😳

Mine’s a January 2024 bike and the gearbox is great, much better than my 1200 was

I don’t notice the whine anymore but I don’t know if that’s because it’s got better or if I’ve just got used to it :nenau

They knack like a diesel at tickover but sound fine as soon as you’re moving

We’re all different and susceptible to different things, only you can decide

I absolutely love mine :nod

at the first full service mine seemed to improve, especially the gearbox/gearchange. Quite why I have no idea (software tweaks to quick shifter?) but I have no complaints having definitely thought it was clunky before.

Is it new new , as in from the factory.
Sure you'll enjoy it, they are a nice bike.

If it's a used bike just check the dealer has done the service "enhancements" before you get it.
Could you please explain what you mean by ‘service enhancements’?

There's a BMW motorrad website where you can check for "service enhancements" for your bike using either reg nbr or VIN NBR. There is one for ASA software on mine to do with going into neutral while riding in manual mode after setting off in first gear.

You only see a code if there are any enhancements so need to ask your dealer to do the software update if it shows on the enhancements.

You’ve got to love BMW’s use of the word “enhancement”. Hard to see how making something that’s broken work the way it’s supposed to counts as enhancing it but I don’t suppose classing them as manufacturing failures would go down quite so well…
