New vibration

I have a R1200RT which in 5th and 6th gear nearing 70mph has a vibration which feels as if something is out of balance. It's not through the handlebars as if the front wheel isn't balanced and there is nothing visual from the front end whilst I'm riding.

If I drop into 4th the vibration disappears, I'm not convinced it's gone totally but is significant enough that I don't notice it.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation and if so what was the cause.

Try disengaging the clutch at 70mph and allow the engine to idle to determine if its engine related.....or wheels/ bearings/ spinny bits related.

Good idea. I'll try it once the fuel leak has been traced and sorted.
