new Vista PC cannot read my old routes?

Hi all,

new Vista PC today.......downloaded my saved routes from my old XP computer but on the vista pc cannot read them etc???

Any help please??

Done a latest update from the garmin site, Mapsource working okay on this new PC, just as above cannot open old routes.:blast

Sorry forgot to mension.......can create on route on the new PC but when saved to a folder (My Garmin routes!) go back in and it does not open:thedummy

You need to save your old routes as a different file type. I'm not handy to my own PC, but the file extension ends in 2, Someone will be along in a minute to give you the proper file extension, I think it is something similar to Gpx2 or Mps2. If you browse your file extensions in you drop down menu you will see it.
 
For anyone else having read this thread. The file extension that needs to be used to make it compatible with Vista is either;

1. 'Garmin GPS Database Version 2 (*.gdb)'

2. MPS Files (*.mps)

XP uses Version 3 (*.gdb)

When you compile a route, just save it as this file extension.

Following a conversation with Team Duvet, you will need V8 City Navigator or later.

This method worked for me!
