New Zealand March 2012

Kauri museum

We went on Tuesday the 2nd Krituo.

Fantastic

It has not rained hard enough for the "Highvis" jobbies.

Just sent Chris & Colin on their way. Both the Waioeka gorge and the Motu roads have been closed (big slip they reckon will take a month to clear) so they are off the long way round the eastcape to Havelock North That's a long ride in the rain they stayed a couple nights I had them on horses up the river and up my mountain by Quad (I think Colin was quite taken with my 800cc Can-am Renagade)

So they get to try the RainOffs and Lottin Point Fishing Lodge .....

Hi timbatrader, ahebron and Kritou.

Now in Wellington with friends. One hell of a ride yesterday 580km ... and today around 300km from Havelock North taking in the longest place name and a few unplanned de-tours to Wellington. Yeah I got lost as my SatNav has not worked since day 2. Using the HEMA maps to the full Kritou and the RainOffs today.

Ok, time for bed and to catch the ferry in the morning at 8.25 to Picton.

Wow you got lost riding to Wellington. Its at the bottom of the island for gods sake:D:blast. But sign posting in NZ is appalling.
I live over the harbour from Wellington and on a good day is spectacular and on a bad day its bloody amazing.
Enjoy your ferry trip, if you are heading over to Nelson do take the Grove Arm and call in at the Brick Oven Cafe in Rai Valley.

NZ March 2012

haha ... no we did not totally lost. We were heading in the wrong direction only for a few Km when did I notice the sea was on my right and that meant we were heading north ... If you see what I mean. I doubt you will as it was foggy at that moment in time for us.

We are in Blenheim tonight :)

Ok!!! Tomorrow we are doing The Molesworth Road. The weather has been dry for a couple of days and we are heading south towards Dunedin for the 17th.

More later on in the week.

Looks like you've timed that well - the sun's supposed to be shining down here (for a change) on Friday and Saturday. Enjoy Molesworth, it's a great place.

The Molesworth :)

We had a brilliant time riding The Molesworth ... so long ago now but I think it was 14th that we did it. We have done a couple more off road tracks but it`s not something I think Colin likes to do ... Off Road :( though he did enjoy The Molesworth.

Rode from Queenstown up to Franz Joesph this afternoon and that is where we are going up to the Glacier tomorrow. Walking not flying ... :eek

NZ March 2012

There will be lots of photos when I have the chance to edit all I have taken ... around 2000 so far. It will be my first ride report ever and will take a while to put it all together.

In Murchiston tonight then upto Blenhiem tomorrow for a missed wine tasting a couple of weeks ago.

If you have an hour or two to spare the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre next to Blenheim airport is considered one of the best in the world, especially for WW1 - provided you are still half sober!
