Had to have my ZFE reprogrammed last week to fix an indicator problem:nenau .

Just found out that when using the right-turn indicator hold for 5secs/ cancel hold for 5 secs trick to switch the lights off, I can now turn them back on again by turning on the high beam. No need now to turn off the ignition.

Indicator problem is also sorted, but no rain recently to be 100% certain of that...

if you have an 07, you can also turn the abs on and off on the fly as well (at least mine does!).

I posted your info a few months ago and noone believed me. What year model have you got?

Bonox,
its an '06 model. Was not like this before the update. I used to have to turn the bike off then back on again.
The engine also seems much smoother as well, but that could just be me

the electrics are run by a computer - just like coding a spreadsheet application, you can rewrite how the bikes computer manages switch and sensor inputs to control outputs. The new firmware introduces the features found on the '07 models because the computer hasn't changed but the newer models already come with the firmware you now have.

The smoother engine is probably a red herring - either it is and is incidental, it isn't and you are imagining it, or more likely, when the firmware was updated, the ignition map was reset, as were the idle steppers and the TPS
