I'll highly recommend the 650 Twin...but then I would...:)....mines lowered, but then you can't possibly be as vertically challenged as me.......:D

Mate im 5ft 5 inch I would suggest you try the 650 as is I found I could put both feet on the ground, quite easly
my daily ride is the bandit 1250

Hi Viffer,

I'm only 5'8" and manage an R1200GS (With the low seat) just fine.

It's actually easier than my R100GSPD, which doesn't have a low seat option.

welcome along viffer, i am 5'6, 28 inside leg and ride a 1200 with lowered seat for local use and normal seat when loaded for trips. no probs, it feels wierd at first but you soon get used to it. it feels wierd for me if i can get 2 feet down on anything.

as Gunz said, try them all but get as long a test as you can.

I bought a standard 1200 last year with a seat that had been worked on to suit the previous owner....it was too low for me- so I sold it on.....

I've got a 29 and a bit inside leg and 5'9"

The moral of the story is if you want one there's a way to get it to fit you ;)

Hi
I'm 5'9 with 29" inside leg.
Bought a 1200 GS with low seat and I'm absolutely loving it.

Go for it mate, you won't regret it.

Hi jj,had a good look at the 1200 on tuesday with the standard seat i was on tip toe.I`ve just measured my inside leg 750mm how low is the low seat height?

Hi and welcome. Im also a bit short for my weight at 5ft 8 with 29'' inside leg. I have a 1200gs with ESA and dont find it a problem at all. If left on the setting for two people when Im the only one on the bike it can be a bit more adventureous but otherwise its fine, give it a try after a short while I expect you will get used to it.

Hi viffer
I measured 790mm from floor to lowest point of seat which I believe is about 40 - 50mm less than the standard seat.
I don't get my feet completely flat but certainly get majority of my foot down and it is something you get used to.
I found the bike a bit heavy when I first got it but now I've had it for a while and got used to it I find no problems at all.
Best thing I've bought and can't see me chanding it for some time.:thumb2
Like I said I don't think you will regret it.
Not sure how far Stourbridge is from Northampton but if you're in the area you are welcome to have a try to see if it's for you or not.
Keep us posted as to your decision.

All the best
JJ

Daytona M Star Goretex - pricey @ £290.00 but they add 25mm, I'm 5-9, 29"

I can flat foot the ground now.
