Welcome Robjet

I own a F800GS, ridden 1200's & loved the gear ratio but not the white finger after only 200miles. Happily do 600+ on my bike all day long.

If you like cruising 1200 is for you. If you like life a little more lively the F800GS with its many gear changes are fun fun fun!

If you liked it, why not get one? Who advised you not to and have they ridden one themselves?

I was advised not to buy one about three years ago and bought a Sprint ST 1050 instead. Whilst I liked the Trumpet, I recently bought a GSA which is even better! (IMO) :JB

If you don't buy one you will always think 'what if ............. ?' and you will never know the answer.
If you buy right and you don't like it then you could sell it on without losing much.
Life's too short;).

I was told by quite a few people "don't buy one", "avoid them, they ain't reliable", "they're too vibey a ride" and loads of other negative stuff - now on my third and I have loved every single one of them - best bike I've ever ridden. Hands down.

Bike 1 - GS 2007 in Rock Red - superb bike, but craved the extra fuel and wanted that GSA look with the spoked wheels

Bike 2 - GSA 2007, champagne colour, great bike, but really wanted to get a brand new GSA as I'd loved this one and the GS before it

Bike 3 (current, and its a keeper!) - Magma red GSA 09. I love it to bits and ride it whenever I can.

Apparently, 160 bikes are coming out of BMW (Berlin IIRC) each day - that must say something, they can't all be replacement bikes :-)

Get yourself one and you won't regret it. :thumb2
