Hiya all,
Got the Dakar 2000 delivered last monday. It has got TKC80 tires on at the moment. Pretty much off road orientated, aren't they? I found the bike a bit vibraty at passed 70mh...I will use the bike mainly on the road and occasional green laning... What would be the best tires?
I've got Metzeler enduro 1 on my R65GS and really like them, good grip and not bad at all off road. Would you recommend them for the dakar? Could I keep the TKC80 at the front and fit a Metzeler at the rear? Would that affect the performances?
Many thanks
Vince

TKC's are the best of both worlds, but if you want something less off road orientated then Metzeler Enduro 3 Saharas would be a good compramise.

Personally I used TKC's and found them fine, handle very well for a knobbly and they are only noisey when new. I now use MT21 Pirelli's as they are a bit more off road orientated.

If ya laning is easy and dry, then anything will work. For road tyres I use Continental Escapes which are frighteningly good and allow you to do things with a 21" front wheel that shoudn't be allowed :thumb
