Next batch of bling - rear side panels

I tried a pair of the piramid ones...looked great.. but I couldnt refit the seat in low position. Took them to the dealers to fit and they could'nt get the seat on either.. I reckon with the application of a powerfile they would be ok but at £130 ...they went back

I didnt return them to piramid. they came as part of the deal when I bought the bike. I saw a set fitted and they looked good so agreed to have a set.

I had a set of boxer design ones on my last 12GS, i thought they looked good, and a bit different to the wunderbra/touratat offerings

Had photo's can't find them now, but they have been posted on here in the past:nenau

Personally wouldn't buy them but a friend works a bit for Pyramid and gave me their version of side panels.

Gazza just checking but is your seat at its lowest setting because it looks like the front of the seat is further away from the tank than it should be..which is the problem I had ( could be the picture though ) they look smart though

Those Pyramid ones look nice. I have Wunderlich ones no probs. Come an odd silver tho which doesnt match bike IMO so I sprayed mine with a Halfords spray can.

Edit, oh so I cant post pics. But anyway....

And NEVER put on/off centre stand with side stand down, crushed toes when going off and gouged shins when going on. Ouch!

I Always leave the sidestand down, so it is off the mainstand and straight down onto sidestand, saves faffing around looking for the sidestand while holding the bike up :)

Ovenpaa -- Each to their own --

This prompts me to ask another question - (off-topic again but somebody else started it).

When getting onto the bike I have it on the sidestand, lift the bike when I'm sat on it, then raise the stand. Is this what most folk do?

I ask because I seem to remember that in my younger days I raised the stand first and then swung my leg over.
But maybe it was that bikes were smaller then? Or maybe it's just old age?

Phil

Have the Wunderlich ones like Earthmover but in black. Since have Jesse panniers on the bike had to do some cutting and fitting around the rack mounts on the bike. Took about a half hour or so to customize. Even so keeps a lot of muck off your leg and boots. Note that with the Wunderlich ones you keep your stock rear shock rebound adjuster but with Touratech ones you don't. Cheers! :beerjug:

Hmmm

The guys at the BMW course in Hechlingen reckon just ride it off the centre stand ... Stand up on the pegs, rock it forwards and give it some gas.

Works for me :thumb
