Next Helmet after Quantum F

I put it here because the Arai never seemed that noisy with my previous bike (1150R) but the combination with the 1200GS has made it MUCH worse so it is a sort of hybrid Arai vs 1200 vs noise sort of question.

BMW Integral

I've been on a quest for years to find quieter helmets. Because you can't trial them I now have a collection of 6 helmets. Arai, Shoei, Nolan, Roof, Shark and BMW. Of them all the BMW Integral is quietest on the 12GS because the seal to your neck and under the chin around the base of the helmet is the best. It is also at least as comfortable as the Arai. The downside of the good seal is that it mists up more in damp or cold weather because you breath can't escape; and with a complex curve visor you can't fit a fog city....... The result is I take the Integral in good weather and the Arai in the wet.

Interesting - I've always been of the opinion that you have either a Shoei-shaped head or an Arai-shaped one. None of the Shoeis that I've ever tried to cram on my head come even close to fitting.

I may give an X-Spirit a try just out of interest - I usually ignore the Shoei shelves.
Me too. Shoeis always nailed me right in the forehead. 2 min. and I'd have a pounding headache. The X-11/X-spirit has a different shape and it fits my Arai Quantum F head perfectly. Give it a try!

I had a shoei xr 900 a couple of years ago until I smashed my head on a dry stone wall ( lid worked fine but wrecked it ), loved the lid, tried a suomy gunwind after that ( pinched from wife at time ), lovely lid, real quality feel about it apart from the visor release and NOISE!!!!, went looking for a new lid last week and seriously considered another gunwind, esp at 160 notes in Kens of Newcastle but eventually plumped ffor a Roof Daytona Ro10 and I have to say that it is really comfy and quiet but the visor removal is a bit of a faff and some of the finish leaves a little to be desired.
